  • ciao joe, come stai? tanto tempo! madonna! abita ancora in new york? sei ingrasatto un po? pure io...........mi piace tanto tue foto's, specialmente quelli di italia.................well, good to hear from you, give my best to your familia....ciao, paul dionisio
  • I'm not an Italian like all you guys are but I do sell the great wines from Italy. Those classy Barolo's from Piedmont, the wonderful Brunello's & Chianti's from Tuscany, the Montepulciano's from Abruzzo & who could forget those tasty Pinot Grigio's from Friuli.

I came on this site because I was truly "blessed" by my years in residence and the friendship's that have lasted all these many years with many of my Way Corps brothers and sisters. Yes I will agree that that was so many years ago and the nostalgia is something that we can't "hang on to". We are all so much older now, we have raised children to the best of are ability, hell! some of us even have careers.

I have made mistakes, I have offened people and I have decided to no longer judge or be critical of what others wanna' do. I believe we all someday will stand before the "Great Judge" and I will continue to look to that day and be as gracious to my fellow man as I can be. As a result of adopting this "lifestyle" I lay my head on my pillow each night and rest peacefully.

Oh yea! Do you know what a 7 course Italian meal is?........ A loaf of Italian bread and a six-pack.
  • Joe,
I will pray and I know God will continue to bless and heal you. But let me suggestion that some of that confidence we used to have was ego mixed with wide-eyed youthful enthusiasm and I not sure I want all that back :-).

I've also found over the years that individuals beat themselves up with doubt or worry of not being good enough or doing the right thing and that translates into what seems like lack of confidence or believing. The bottom line is, we don't give God enough credit. If He loved us when we were dead in sin, how much more does He love us now that we are cleansed in righteousness? Our old religious ways especially in later Corps made us think we had to earn our way into God's heart, but actually we were there all along.

I'm sure you are a wonderful blessing to God and His people so just go in that confidence and live love--life is too short to do otherwise.

  • Hi Joe,
This is Duke Clarke, I don't know you from the Corp, but I just wanted to say that I'm so happy you followed your heart in your search for God. I'm sure your life is a blessing to those you minister to. My wife Cathi and I were in the Second Way Corps which Dr Wierwille ran by himself. He share a lot of things with us about life that sadly were not pasted down by later leaders. We also had a lot of personal contact with Uncle Harry and one of his closest friend was a Catholic priest in Minister or New Bremen, I forget. Uncle Harry didn't agree with his friend biblically but he loved and respected him immensely.

I add my voice to those on here that send their love and encouragement. When I was ordained by the Way I used to read the ordination paper and it said I was ordain BY the Way International, but that I was a minister FOR the Lord Jesus Christ. God's best to you on your journey, Duke Clarke
  • Yo! Joe: Great to see you brother. It's nice to have another fellow Italian here. God bless you my friend
  • Joe,

I second or third John's comments and am glad to see you here. I, along with John, have great memories of both you and Cathy and I always thought you two were a wonderful match. Opinions may not mean much but I hope you both know that you are well loved and highly thought of by many. Give my love and greets to Cathy. Glad to see you found somewhere you believe in to express your love for God.

  • My fellow Paisan! So good to hear from you! I too am the daughter of Italian immigrants, first generation on my dad's side (my dad came over when he was five from Costa Buona) and second generation on my mom's (her parents came over from Tyrolia). I think it is beautiful that you came full circle to what I call "the church of the Italians." As I always say, when you're Italian, the pope stamps you Catholic as you exit the womb! I have a lot of love and great nostalgia for my original way to God through Christ. I go to mass now to enjoy what I call my first true love route to God!

I have visited Buffalo and visited my mother- and father-in-law, gone to the first place to make buffalo wings, and visited with Joe Rubino who owns a bar (wish I could remember the name).

Anyway thanks for making contact, hope I wasn't too windy (you should have seen my hands flailing about!) and say hi to your lovely wife and kids. I have two boys, one born in '98 and one born in '01! My greatest desire is to take them back to where my dad was born and to see my mother's hometown. If I could muster up the back taxes, I could claim the family home!

    Loving you all,
    Judy B.
  • Tell Cathy that in spite of any wrong teaching and wrong practice she was beloved in our 7th Corps group. She was always a freindly, jovial and caring soul. I am sure she still is. She is more than welcome here regardless of her current belief system. MOST people will feel the same. She can ignore (and maybe even pray for) the isolated few fools who think otherwise.

Religion and religious people can be so very cruel at times. Yet they can also be very helpful and life changing. It is the ones who truly have open hearts and open arms of love towards ALL that make a difference in life. If I recall, a guy named Jesus was kinda that way.

And don't give me the money money changers story as an excuse to say he also had balls and could yell and scream at evil religious people. There was far more to the stroy than that. I don't know about you but the yelling and screaming and face to face confrontations is a proven formula for abject failure. Trust me....we know.

  • Tell Cathy there are some pictures of our LEAD group on my page. We were in the same twig.
  • Rev. Pasquella, I am sorry to read such shallow minded comments from a few people on your page here. It is a sign of insecurity, fear, and selfishness in my opinion. Please accept me as your friend. And tell your lovely wife I said hi and miss her.

Please note it is very easy for you to delete a comment. You just click on the little x at the top right of the comment.

For the record, though I was raised Catholic, I disagree with the Catholic church. That being said, I am no longer ANTI-CATHOLIC like I used to be. Nor am I ANTI-WAY even though I disagree with their ministy and methods. What I have learned is not to be critical of other people's beliefs like we were so wrongly taught in past years. That includes The Way. Folks in The Way have a right to exist and a right to their beliefs.

I am not so quick to call something a cult anymore or to be so judgemental. Lots of things could be considered a cult. Furthermore, some groups change as evidenced by your religion over the centuries and as evidenced by The Way since 2000.
