Jeff Stanley replied to John Richeson's discussion Closing The Way Corps Site
"If you end up closing down the site, John, know that you have performed signal service for me, and I'm sure, for a lot of other Way Corps too. Getting back in touch with people, and also getting to know Corps who we weren't acquainted with "back in…"

"I wish I had a picture of the VW bus we went from Tulsa to the '75 Rock. Same vintage, but the bus had enough room to keep card games going the whole way, there and back."

"Yeah, the abuse stuff got bad in the U.S. too, of course. At HQ and on the field. As a matter of fact it continued here after even after our "early" split.

"Sorry, I'm still editing out a few errors. I'll post what I had above here...

Okay, this thing is going to get indented too much, methinks. As we keep going back and forth, are these posts going to get narrowed down to one word wide? eek!

Jeff Stanley replied to John Richeson's discussion In Memory of Skip Mesquite
"I didn't know Skip or his family, but I certainly enjoyed his music. Time and time again.

Sometimes I think about eternity, and the fact that we will have unlimited time with everyone. Everyone we knew in this life, along with everybody else.

"Having reread your posts a little more thoroughly (sorry about that ... :D )...

You may be right about what Bullinger's and Welch's beliefs were. I'd have to look it all up, but to me that's a side issue.

"Bless you brother. Heh…

Of course, I disagree with most of what you have said.

I knew that. But I figure, "with all that in us is" -- Christ in us -- surely we can disagree without being disagreeable. Not to mention what we have in common as…"

Jeff Stanley replied to Lonnell Johnson's discussion Pentecost--The Birthday of the Church
"I am coming to this discussion way late, obviously. But since the subject of the thread is the Word of God, it has by no means gone stale. Not unless the importance of Day of Pentecost in the Word has gone stale.

  • It is overdue for me to report that Jeff Stanley passed away in November.  Jeff and I had become friends in 2010. Then roommates in 2011.  He was the brother I never had.  He could be critical and sarcastic in a crude way.  But he was always endeavoring to walk in love.  Since we both lived in the San Antonio area, we would talk several times a week. Every month or so we would go grab something to eat.  He loved playing guitar though he wasn't that good.  I found he had no social skills because he was such a roughneck.  But he never refused to help me if I needed anything.  He also help others.  He loved God and was good at researching the Word  I miss my friend.  I look forward to seeing him at the return..

  • Hi Jeff!

Thanks for adding me as a friend.

Let's chat. Would you have anyvtime to help me with the site? We want to add some Biblical Research, maybe some policy features, to bring out the interests of the Way Corps.

  • Happy birthday!  Getting old isn't so bad.  It's being there.

  • Hey Jeff, I just looked at your pictures were we all that young once? WOW!!! I can't wait till we are all tougher again when the Lord returns

Lena and I send our love to you.

  • Hiya, Jeff!  Thanks for having the sense to take a camera into residence at Emporia.  I  very much enjoyed  the photos you've posted and they brought back many memories.  I enjoyed reading your profile also.  May God continue to bless all that your hand finds to do in His name.  Love to you and yours.

  • Just a little early birthday greeting to you Jeff. Hope you have a wonderful fun filled day tomorrow. The best to you.
  • Great music!  Goin' Home was kind of funny.  Sounded like a lot of fun.  Glad to see you made it back in here.  When I first got in, there were less than 200 Corps on it.  I visit once in a while to see how it has grown.  You must admit, it is quite a treat to see a bunch of these people we knew.
