this car has a story in its short time i had it. Was given to me on the wow field of our interm year . in the pittsburg area. Rebulit the engine finished up the night before we head to the rock. No registration, no plates for the car. so we took some plates off the wall of the garage and used them. We made it through a police roadblock. They were stopping all cars but they waved us through. Guess we looked like model l citizens . After the rock i get the car registered in mich at the at he in laws address. We go back to Int. for our first block. one night during the week. Peter Esmond borrows the car and takes a girl into town for some drinks. they get in very late. So the next morning we have a meeting with all the 11th corps. Purpose of the meeting whose car did peter take into town. I was never prouder of our corps as nobody gave it up. T he car died somwhere in Az. on our way to our first assignment. It huffed and puffed into a junk yard, walked across the street to the bus station {it was a very small town} with the money we got for car. And got on a bus to Palm Springs. Where i immediatly given another car a very clean 68 mustang.

I wish I had a picture of the VW bus we went from Tulsa to the '75 Rock. Same vintage, but the bus had enough room to keep card games going the whole way, there and back.
