Some of us Way Corps Alumni (and friends and family) decided to go on a cruise together. We had a great time! We went from Miami, to Key West, to Cozumel Mexico and back to Miami. It was awesome and memorable! Cruising with good friends adds a whole new dimension to the experience! These are a few of the pictures I have. Jimmy Buffett's version of the song "Sea Cruise" is the background music.

What a fantastic concept and fabulous place! I've already written to my daughter, Julia (34), and my daughter-in-law, Laura nee Biederman, who have 6 kids between them (ages 7 years to twins of 5 months) to have them look forward to your camp opportunity down the road. The two older ones are also being home-schooled. I sent them your link. Thanks.

Let me consider some things regarding fundraising, and I'll get back to you. I'm going to get your link to Buck Dopp, as he has rubbed shoulders with celebrities over the years. How a guy who's not nearly as good looking as I could have such contacts...

God bless you and Terry. Have a terrific inaugural camp next week.

    Love in Him,

    Jerry

We’re gonna need some help here!

  • I was at that Chicago hotel, Jerry. Thanks!
  • I've booked a few hotel meetings in my time, like Sound Out at the Opryland and 5 overflow hotels; like the Bible Lands' tour in 1985 with 750 participants; and the 8 regional 40th-Anniversary weekends. My greatest achievement was getting $40 Quad rooms with free parking at the downtown Hyatt Regency Chicago. But, it takes 4,000 + people to attend on a January weekend, when they'd otherwise be empty! Glad to help out, John. God bless.

  • It was a bad turnout due to a lot of factors. (Promotions not being one of them).

    • It was still a very unsettling time in our economy what with the real estate crisis and shaky banks, bailouts, etc.
    • It was expensive. I assumed people could fork out this kinda dough or wanted to.
    • Cruises are a lot of work. It's hard to organize people on board a ship. There is a scarcity of meeting places, etc. We couldnt text either at sea.

I would never do a reunion cruise again. Next time it will be a long weekend at a nice hotel in an easy to get to place like Nashville for example. That is a format we are all used to. We will have a main hotel where we can all stay or it will be optional for folks to stay at another hotel.

THOSE THINGS NOTWITHSTANDING - our small, diverse Way Corps Reunion group had an awesome time. I saw friends I had not seen in 30 years. We still have that "bond" after all these years. It was truly a nice vacation too. I also got to meet and hang out with people I had never known before such as Steve Sann (4th Corps).
