Lived in CA in same central coast area since 1983. Was 6th of 8 children. Married since 1/24/87. Height: 5' 10.5". Weight: 175 lbs. Hair: black. Eyes: brown. What else?
My Interests
I'm interested in getting out of this website. I'm stuck in cyberspace! Somebody help!!! ...My 6 year old finally helped me out, so ignore this. I love music, playing guitar, writing: music, screenplays, biblical research. I like to fish and hunt and enjoy coaching my kid's soccer teams. I love history, science and just about any topic that is intellectually stimulating. I'd like to join forces with some people who want to make godly movies. I"m very interested also in sharing with you some things I've learned these many years in my blog "Tidbits of Truth." Check it out.
Employment or Career
If I told you, I'd have to kill you!.... I lied. I do HVAC. Can you guess what that means? It's heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning.
Music I Like
Anything that shows some degree of creativity and talent. You know, like Bach, Moody Blues, Led Zepplin, Alabama, Dave Brubeck, B.B. King, Glen Miller, Garth Brooks, Spirogira, Eagles, News Boys, Ray Charles, Gus Ponstinkle...
Books I Like
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth... Historical and scientific works.
Television I like
It all stinks! It does! Well maybe Jeopardy is okay, except Alex reminds me too much of some teachers I had. We don't have cable because my wife is afraid what the kids might see on it.
Movies I like
Anything made before I was born. I wish Frank Capra was still around. Lately the kids and I have been watching every Marx Brothers movie ever made!
Sports Teams I like
The St. Louis Cardinals. What? The first time I went to a Giants vs Cardinals game in SF at least a quarter of the fans there were wearing red Cardinals garb! I asked one whole family getting out of two vehicles if they were wearing it because they were from St. Louis like me. The father told me, "No, we've lived in San Francisco all our lives." Go figure.

I will revisit this in the Scriptures and retune my thinking.

Yeah, that was a fun time, wasn't it? I get a real kick out of thinking about it, and then occassionally I wince - we've come a long way since then.
Yeah, I do a little acting now and then. Mostly, though, I direct. I am currently running the Drama Dept. at the local high school, and that's really a good time. Teaching is a blast.
1776 is a staple around here, too. It isn't always the greatest representation of what happened. but it certainly hast the gist of it, and it's great for turning on the kids to our history.
I just finished writing an 80 page narrative of my family history, and my fourth great grandfather was a minute man. He picked up his musket the day after Lexington and Concord, and he didn't put it down for eight years - talk about commitment. And he was in his forties! He was a nobody, but he stuck with the idea of liberty for eight years - as a private. What a heritage.
Maybe we ought to think about another Declaration, huh?
Great to hear from you, Dan
Thanks for writing. Did you ever record your music with Steve? Looking forward then to seeing an updated profile.
Best,
Susan
What a joy to be able to tell you how special you are to me and always will be. I have always felt very blessed to have had you in my life.
Here is a funny story for you that I never told you at the time, when we went LEAD our first year, on our DUO your space wasn't too far from me and I could hear you cough every now and then and it was such a comfort to me to know that my brother was with in shouting distance if I needed you. I also knew that you wouldn't break the rules by talking to me unless there was a BEAR eating me. Thankfully I never had to call out to you but it was good to know someone who knew and loved me was close by.
The DUO was the biggest challenge for me because you know I kind of like being with people and it was pretty strange for me to be all alone and to get use to that. I spent more time wishing away the time then being into it. At this point in my life I could do a DUO for a month and finally feel like I got enough alone time. I have been at this mom thing for almost 20 years and my youngest is only 10 so I got a good 8 more years of togetherness.
Are you still playing your guitar and writing music? I came across a tape with some of your songs on it not long ago. What a flash from my past that was.
You are treasure. Your passion for the truth is still inspiring.
I want to see pics of the kids.
I love you man!

I did figure that out...everybody has to start somewhere....it gets easier.
Now that you mention it...it was at the afterglow...and one of the songs was "it's Gotta Be God." Great memory, dude!
It sure is great to know you are well and still funny.
Are you still playing the guitar and singing?
How about posting a picture of you and the wife?
George
Without a pic, it's hard to picture you but I was also in the 11th Corps married to Mark Pavlica.
Any way, I really do want to know about you?
Best,
Susan Pavlica Joyce
