  • Hi Cathy, Thanks for saying hello and your kind words. I work on these binary machines all day at work and have not had much recreational time online during this summer so I apologize for not replying sooner. Spent most of the summer working, playing golf and enjoying family time. It seems like eons ago when we were living at HQ on our Interim Corps year. I have fond memories of our Interim 12th Corps family and especially remember when you all planned a surprise birthday party for me by having me kidnapped in the Yord's trailer unit after Bill and I returned from our evening workout at the Ambassador One hanger gym. Six guys wrestled, blindfolded and placed me into a van, then drove around in circles before carrying me into the Way Woods cabin where the rest of our Dirty Dozen members were waiting for what turned out to be an all-night slumber party. It still rates as the biggest and one of my most memorable birthday parties. Glad you are enjoying home life in Monterey and being a stay-with-my-kids family. I love how you phrase it. My wife and I are living in the same manner. I miss the Pacific Ocean and the fog is still my favorite type of weather. As you mentioned, the marine layer unbearable at times especially if you live in it. As a native of the Bay Area, I always resided a few miles from the coast or behind a mountain so the fog always burned off by the late morning and it warmed up. I remember golfing with my Dad during a family vacation in Pacific Grove and camping at Big Sur. Glad to hear you are well and enjoying the things of God. Love to you and our family.
  • Hey, Cathy, I noticed I forgot to respond! I still have a few cannolli tins, but I haven't made them in years. Now I remember the torte you made and was pissed I couldn't taste it (it was for the Leadership!) But I do still make my grandmother's raviolis, canneloni, manicotti and many other favorites. She was a chef to a doctor in Napoli back in the late 1800s so she has the best recipes! I do long for more Italians in my life, especially since my dad passed away and my mom is quite sick. Seems like family gets scarce as we get older! Ah well, take care of your two little utzies (remember Ralph's teaching?) I've got two too! They are the best!
  • Hi Cathy. I was just thinking about you two the other day.
  • Aloha, Cathy. Yes, I remember you and Gary. Thanks for saying "hi" and I am glad that you two are thriving and happy. Much aloha, Roz
  • Hi Cathy,
thanks for the note. Yes, I'm still married with Claus. We have two children (nearly 21 and 17). Both of them are still living at home which I - I must admit - greatly enjoy knowing it won't last much longer.
    Love,
    Erni
  • Hi Cathy, how are you? I remember you, and that, well - interesting year in the bookstore. Our God doth deliver... :)
  • Cathy,

I had forgetten all about those huge cakes! What a great memory! You are a wonderful women and I bet a great mom!
  • So good to hear from you, my paisano! I barely remember that dinner, but I do remember you! What did we serve? Did I serve my grandmother's famous raviolis? See I spaced a few things in residence (and out!) Love you!
