Way Corps Reunion 2010

When I started this site less than a year ago, I indicated to the handfull of early friends and members at that time that IF we ever reached 1,000 members I would commit to helping put together a Way Corps Reunion. Today we have 1,100 members and that does not include husbands and wives who share accounts. I did not expect so many to join so quickly. Go figure! I would like to announce that we will have a Way Corps Reunion in 2010. I am not sure where and I am not sure how. But I assure you it will happen one way or another. Plan now! 1. I am sure it will include family and friends of Way Corps alumni. 2. It will not be planned as a teaching or evangelistic event but more social in nature. After all, we have a lot of catching up to do! But within that framework will be plenty of time for heart sharing and networking both publicly and privately, in the general group and in smaller groups. 3. A cruise is a good possibility. We got a taste of what a reunion of this type can be like when we attended the 6th Corps reunion in Chicago last month where they celebrated their 30th year since graduation. While only 60 people attended, it was memorable and moving on many different levels. The planners did a great job and I can only hope to come close to the quality of that event. I have no idea how many from this site may desire to attend, but imagine what it will be like if even a few dozen of us gather somewhere for an extended long weekend? It will be unforgettable in my opinion. I will need help as I am just one person who also happens to work full time and has a family. But I am excited about this. Let's use this thread to discuss. Also feel free to email me privately if you want to. You can also call or text me. John R. jrich7@verizon.net C (813) 404-9795

  • Hey John, I would love to see everyone but with money being very tight, I wonder if we could do a West coast, Midwest and an East coast to save on trip costs. Just a thought. Cathy
  • Thanks Judy...no big deal....I'm just glad you had a good time and enjoyed the band.
    Thanks for remembering.

  • Shucks, George, I would have but it wasn't David on the drums! I don't know if it was just the night I went or what, but it was another guy filling in for him. Still, all in all, it was a fabulous performance, brought back lots of memories!
  • Yes Judy...in fact you can.
See if he remembers George Hendrix. He may remember I stayed with him, and others on the motorcoach, and helped set up his drums at different gigs, etc. during the Outreach Week when Vince Finnegan, Joyful Noise, etc. went to Denver, CO. I believe this was in the Spring of 1981. After we left Denver we went to Camp Gunnison for a couple of days.
Then again he may not remember. Even if he doesn't remember, he may appreciate the "hi."
What a great guy! That experience was much fun.

    Thanks,
    George
  • Hey,
This is kind of unrelated, but I'm going to see Tower of Power perform this Sunday at Jazz Alley here in Seattle. I know Skip isn't with them but Dave Garibaldi is still their drummer. Anyone I can say hi from?

  • I'm on a mission from God. We're getting the band back together! Liz McEwen has expressed interest in coming, and I assume Hope Richieson will be there. Any other musicians? If I can come, and I do plan to, I'll surely bring a guitar. Maybe some of us can do some long-distance collaboration... send mp3 files of recordings, work up the bass and harmonies, etc.

    For starters, I'm thinking "It's Good To Be Home Again" -- a sure-fire sing-along!
  • I would be happy to help. What do you need? I know someone who does christian cruises.

  • Kevin,

I forgot about "Roll Away." Doggone.

Alaska or FL or anywhere would be fine with me. I just want to sing "Roll Away" again. What did we do after that? String chairs?

Was there really ever a two drink limit....I don't recall it.......maybe that's why?
  • Did you get it? call (410)570-2819 for exciting details
