Stephen Kingsley commented on Steve Sann's blog post Way Corps Alumni Letter - New Years 2020
"Hi Steve,    I live in Idaho and our paths have crossed a few times. I'm in the Lewiston area and if you ever get over this way, I would love to have a cup of coffee with you. I'm graduate of BG Leonard's full Bible course, graduated from that in…"

John Richeson commented on Stephen Kingsley's blog post Trying to Explain
"Very well stated, Stephen. Thanks for sharing that insight. My favorite part  "It was not the accuracy of the Word that saved me. Jesus did." In my humble opinion, The Way and The Way Corps, PFAL and even the bible itself were (very) imperfect aids…"

I had to try to explain The Way to a colleague today. It was tough to get through. I do not need to explain it to any readers here; you lived it too. But, in the interest of our Lord Jesus, I would share some of my reflections on what I have learned…

Stephen Kingsley replied to John Richeson's discussion Closing The Way Corps Site
"Hi John,
I have not been here much and desperately need to update my page, but I'm glad The Way Corps Ning is still here. Thank you.
Not sure what to say other than I hope someone can take it over. As admin could you send out an e-mail to everyone…"

"Hi David. Thanks for the BDay wish. Feeling good but for a few aches and pains. Nothing to complain about. What kind of art do you do? I'm an Divine Designer, still dabbling in oils as time allows."

"Hi Reed, Yep. I remember you. You're from here! I didn't know that. I don't think I've met your brother yet. Are you related to the Wasem family that owns the drug store in Clarkston? Sounds like you're doing well. BTW, I just bought a Golden…"

Stephen Kingsley commented on John Lynn's blog post The Way. It Was.
"George,

What Frank meant by his comment is easy enough to see. He thinks JAL has a big ego. So what? That's no surprise, and not a horribly wounding judgment. It'll roll off Lynn easily enough. But tho' Frank thinks that, he's doesn't want to…"

"John Lynn and his blog friends.

Please bear with me. I must add something to this discussion.

I wasn't saved by an accurate knowledge of the Word, or the knowledge of the truth. I couldn't have quoted single verse. I was saved by Jesus. I had…"

"A last plea for love's sake and reason. After this, I'm likely to bow out here. Too many other things to do and my dear wife is mad at me for spending too much time at the computer (she's right of course). I love you all and thank you for hearing me…"

Stephen Kingsley commented on John Lynn's blog post The Way. It Was.
"Wolfgang,

It's simple. The Bible says "But unto the Son he says, Your throne, O God, is forever and ever (Hebrews 1:8)." A JCING teacher would of necessity say of this, "But that's not what it means ..." I don't want to do that. I'd rather say…"

"John;

Again bro, you keep knocking down the Trinitarian position, but so what? It's an inferred position, not a purely scriptural one. Then, to make you look even more superior (apparently) you call it polytheistic (a misrepresentation) and knock…"

"Hi Lenore. Remember me? You were in Idaho. Was it Lewiston or Boise? I think you came out here as a W.O.W. I'm a health food fan too, maybe not as fanatical as I should be though. You look like you've hardly aged a day. All my best to you. Steve"

Stephen Kingsley commented on John Lynn's blog post The Way. It Was.
"George,

Point well taken and well said. Sorry. In my postings on this important topic I've tried to acknowledge the positive aspects of my Way (when it was) experience. I know that's what JAL aimed at in his "The Way. It Was." paper--and I agree…"

  • I worked at a desk in the bookstore. Probably working on invoicing and such, I don't really remember. I do remember someone teaching me how to run the original PC's with the blue screen, though. It may have been a DOS program, I don't really know.

Previously to going into the corps, and before my apprentice year, I lived in NC for 2 years. The first year I assisted the gal who did the limb bookstore, and then she left the area, and I took over. I was in charge of it at the limb and borrowed a friends car and drove to different areas in the state to make available the bookstore at classes and events.

There was some big event we went to in VA Beach, weekend in the word or some such thing, and Mrs. Allen came with the bookstore there, I was able to help her and those she brought with her, set it up.

For quite a few years after that I worked the bookstore at the Rock.

I also helped start a research project that I think it was Bill Mitchell? was spearheading. I never heard whether they ever finished it.

Where were you on your interim year?

    Marsha
  • It's a trip that you thought that time in the lunch room was 'fun', of course at the time, you probably did't think so.

If I didn't say so before, I hope you and your family had a good holiday season also.

  • Stephen,
great to hear from you - sorry for the delay in the return! after the initial flurry of activity, have not checked this site as often. God bless you for the work you are doing - would love to chat sometime...and not too late at 50 - I found it very stimulating to get my MA.
I will be in touch again and we can discuss the change process - I learned a great deal out of necessity - I needed a lot of work if I was every going to help anyone else! God bless you, brother, will be in touch, Michael
  • By the way, were you on HQ staff our interim year?

I see you have it as one of your groups, but I looked at that page and didn't see your pic on it.
  • That wowo year was 79-80. My family/team coord for that year just joined the site yesterday. If needed I can ask him whether I have Mackey's name right. Mackey seemed, from what I remember, to be more of a country boy. And I don't think I rmember seeing him at any rock after that year, so that could be why.

Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and Holiday season.

    Marsha and family
  • Stephen,

I remember well the four deers and it was the fourth one that was hit. We tried to find it and finally called someone to go help find it while we went on to the movies. Good to hear from you and know you are well. God Bless Belinda
  • Nice Pics,
Doesn't your youngest get mixed up with Sir Ben Kingsley. Maybe that is why you call him Benny, so there is no confusion. On the subject of the Unit, i've liked it from the first show, yet I see it deviating into more of a soapy show with more messed up relationships. They should keep more to their work. for me that is the exciting part. Also one my favorite characters was killed off this year. I guess I'll have to go with Kul Breeze since that used to be my nickname in Residence.

I like the print. I'll contact you re one...

    Shalom
  • Hi Stephen,
Good to see you here. Are you from Idaho? Have you been there since graduation? Someone that was in my first wow team was from Boise, but I'm not sure that I remember his name correctly. I think it was Mackey (possibly a nickname) McGee.

    God Bless,
    MArsha
  • Steohen,
God Bless you! You look fantastic! It was great hearing from you and seeing your family pictures. I am glad someone else has kids in their 20's.Hey my in-laws live in Ceour-de lan, Idaho. (I think that is how you spell it) It is lovely up there. Have a wonderful holiday season.

    Much Love,
    Kas
  • Hello Stephen!! It seems like several lifetimes ago now but I remember you, Emporia, and that track pretty well.
Four sons!! What a blessing. Are you in a rural area of Idaho? I hear it's gorgeous and have never been there.
This has been a fun reunion site and quite a joy. Love, Debra
