Way Corps Alumni Letter - New Years 2020

January 1, 2020

Dear Way Corps Alumni:

Looking back, 2019 was a roller-coaster year in U.S. politics, and already the New Year of 2020 promises not to disappoint!

Much will be decided this year that could determine the well being of every nation. Whether or not we participate in spiritually influencing these events through intercessory prayer is up to each one of us, individually.

With an election year upon us, an impeached President gaining in the polls, World War III fomenting in the Middle-East, and a stock market that seems to only know up—the world around us is bound to make us Christian believers a bit jumpy—and rightfully so.

The question we all want to know is: Where is God in the middle of all this horribleness?

Tragically, those Christians who assume that God is in ultimate control of world governments and politics are often the ones left most helpless—begging for God to "please—do something!“  It’s seriously difficult to be strong in faith when you believe that God is prone to random acts of destruction—especially your own.

Thankfully, for you and me of the Way Corps alumni, we absolutely know where God is:  His base of operations is “Christ in you”.

God's weaponry is housed in our "Christ-in-you" authority, positioned latently within each and every believer. God’s releases His “exceedingly abundantly above” power, when we finally stand up and claim our authority in Christ.

The fact is, only we believers have the authority to bring God on the scene! That’s the delegation sequence.

He’s not waiting for angels, for some future prophet, for a fresh wave of revival or the fulfillment of some ancient, Old Testament prophecy.

He’s just waiting for you.

We make it happen. When we move, He moves. God is not waiting for anybody or anything else to make His power known.

Just like Christ, we are the spiritual force to be reckoned with at the moment of—and only if and when—we release His power and authority into this world.

That some of us have the confidence still to do so...is the Happiest New Year message out there today!  Thank God, let the party begin!

Biblically, when God delivers nations and peoples, it is always by the intercession of the men and women of God. Sometimes only one.

Amazingly, Speaking in Tongues has been given to us today as the most powerful form of intercession in the history of the world.  Tongues is a potent, foundational tool in our armament.

Several years ago, I wrote a booklet entitled: "WHY DID PAUL SPEAK IN TONGUES SO MUCH?"

Here is a link to a pdf of this booklet as a New Year's gift to you, to help bring in the New Year with a bang!

Why%20Did%20Paul%20Speak%20in%20Tongues%20So%20Much%20-%20vPub%20Z-6%20PDF.pdf

"WHY DID PAUL SPEAK IN TONGUES SO MUCH?" is a question we all should be asking.  I think you will discover the answers to be most inspiring—if not supercharging—to your soul. Once your authority in intercession is realized, it is difficult to walk away untouched by God’s fire in your spirit.

As always, please share any uplifting comments, encouragement and experiences about the power of Speaking in Tongues on the comment section below. If you have incidents of intercessory miracles, please share these with us, as well. By these, we can edify the entire body!

                                                                  ***

As we end this 2019 year, I want to thank you for the privilege of serving you and your families on the Way Corps site, in the small way we have.

We see our purpose simply as "to strengthen that which remains," by reinforcing those good and beneficial truths which we have been taught, and that made us proud to be Way Corps.

By providing a safe forum for the Way Corps alumni to reach out and intermingle, we hope to encourage all those who appreciate the good things we’ve been privileged to enjoy.

In this upcoming year of 2020, you will notice several upgrades to the site: we are in the process of transitioning to a newer platform called NING 3.0. Please watch for and explore it with us!

Throughout 2020, may God’s richest blessings be activated in your life, family and ministry!

Happy New Year!

Steve and Terry Sann

  • Hi Steve,    I live in Idaho and our paths have crossed a few times. I'm in the Lewiston area and if you ever get over this way, I would love to have a cup of coffee with you. I'm graduate of BG Leonard's full Bible course, graduated from that in 1994. I'm half way through "Show Me The Miracles," and am enjoying it. It's great to see some of those great miracle stories published. I've learned some things I didn't know about him and really appreciate it.

I've always had a hunger to excel in spiritual gifts (manifestations). When I was on staff at HQ in 1992 I heard Mrs. Wierwille talking about her first time ministering healing after taking Leonard's Gifts of the Spirit class and how clearly she was able to operate in the Gift of the Word of Knowledge. She talked about what a great teacher in these things Leonard was, so I was eager to me Bro. Leonard when he and Sis. Evelyn came to HQ for Dr. W's memorial service. I got their address and ordered the Gifts of the Spirit book. Interestingly, when visiting with the two of them I talked about what Mrs. W had said about his class and how it helped her be able to see by revelation when she prayed for someone, and Bro. Leonard corrected me: "not pray, she ministered healing ..." Instantly I was able to see the difference for the first time. It took about a year, but eventually I got the book. Also, I was getting newsletters from CTC while in the Corps, the same year that LCM was ripping and tearing into Corp for having any interest or association with the Leonards.

So, I'm still very interested in pnematikos. Thank you for the booklet on Speaking in tongues. It would be a joy to visit with you and other such things if ever the chance arises.

And, thank you for supporting the Ning site and undertaking leadership in so many areas.

Blessings to you and the Mrs.     Stephen Kingsley    s307kingsley@yahoo.com

  • Thanks Steve for blessing us with this pamphlet. In our fellowship we have been studying prayer and I’ve shared many of the things you shared in it. I’m actually working through it again now. And even your letter of early January. It’s interesting to read it after the events of the last few weeks.
When David came to the camp of Israel when Goliath was challenging them, his words showed why God later referred to him as a man after His own heart. 1 Samuel 17:26 (KJV) And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who [is] this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?
David was outraged that Israel had so little confidence in God. In these times we need to view this situation the same way. Coronavirus compared to God?!?!
Psalms 107:8 (KJV) Oh that [men] would praise the LORD [for] his goodness, and [for] his wonderful works to the children of men!
Let’s look at this attack for what it is through the lens of God. Our God is able to deliver.

  • First thank you for the Way corps Site Alumnae letter and the included pamphlet on “Why Paul Spoke in Tongues So Much.” I read it through a couple of times and was thrilled by it. Both my husband Robert and I felt it was the best thing we’ve read on speaking in tongues in a long time. In fact, it’s made me feel like I’ve been sitting on dynamite. We are working it, and appreciate your insight and your clear and perceptive way of expressing yourself. And we’re planning to teach on it in February.

I’m sure our paths may have crossed at some time, but I’m hard pressed to remember exactly when. I was family corps 5– (with no kids, so basically
9th corps) and Robert was 10th corps. I was in Way productions for years, and Robert Way Pub and Way Mag on staff till we finally were on the field in the late 90’s and left TWI in disgust in 2007.
We’ve continued to host fellowships and study and teach but we’ve moved into other areas, Reading and studying many new teachers, writers, and Biblical thinkers. We have done seminars on Love in action and Love—social justice from Gods Word. We’ll continue to do that. But your booklet hasn't been far from my mind since I read it first, a week or so ago.

For too long Speaking in tongues had seemed like a litmus test that we feel wasn’t fair on many believers. It seemed part of an arrogant way of thinking— not at allthat there wasn’t value in it— but It seemed often elevated above other things some believing ones did with great love and spiritual energizing. Your pamphlet took the prayer aspect to a higher level, at least In my understanding....it’s always been at a higher level but seemed too often to be reduced to a proof and a test to pass.
I’m glad to have an opportunity to see it in a better and more urgently needed way.

Any way wanted to write and thank you for your work and love to share it.
We are in the state of Massachusetts if your travels ever take you that way. Don’t know where you are located but somehow suspect west somewhere.
Anyway, God bless to you and yours.
    In him,
    Gloria Olivier
  • Thanks Steve and Terry for taking the time to share. I am listening to the book "Call Sign Chaos," which is by/about Gen. Jim Mattis. One of the comments he made that I wrote down is this:

"Reading is an honor and a gift from a warrior or a historian a decade or a thousand decades ago, who set aside time to write. He distilled a lifetime of campaigning in order to have a conversation with you. We've been fighting on this planet for 10,000 years. It would be idiotic to not take advantage of accumulated experiences. If you have not read hundreds of books, you are functionally illiterate and you will be incompetent because your personal experiences alone aren't broad enough to sustain you." Obviously, this is about war and the 10,000 years inaccurate, but the parallels can be applied to spiritual warfare.

    He also quoted Churchill:

"To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour."

We in the Way Corps were all tapped on the shoulder many years ago and have sometimes been prepared for those moments and sometimes not. But let's not focus on the moments we were not, but instead remember those times we were and the joy of working with God and our Lord Jesus Christ to bring about His purposes in this life. Let us use those special moments and the lives that were touched as motivation to continue to prepare and to avail ourselves. Speaking in tongues is a great way to prepare, and taking the time to seek God's revelation via speaking tongues and prayer makes us available to God.

Thanks again, Steve and Terry, for setting aside time to write so we can take advantage of your insights, which are really God's insights.

  • Still valiant for the truth!

  • Thank you for sending this letter out. I'm grateful for the encouragement and the reminder that we are powerful in our influence and capable of changing the world around us.

Until now, I didn't know that this site was still alive. I'm happy for that.

  • Rev. Sann,
Thank you for providing us a copy of the brochure. I just finished reading it. As being more adept at the manifestations is one of my New Year spiritual goals, it was timely. Thank you for bringing to our remembrance the power we have. All things working together to good and speaking in tongues fervently as God works in our hearts to do so, stood out to me. I will always remember the stick figure incident.
    I love you
    Terri
