About Me
It is 2013 and I thought I should update this since it has been seen for about 6 years.
In 2002 I changed my name back to my birth name. You will now see me as Richard Barton in any emails and on facebook.
I still have more fun than most people. I miss a lot of you. I still speak the Word at every open door though I would not go door to door witnessing unless God was very clear about it.
My life is getting to the point that wisdom is the principle thing, but I still search for it. It seems to elude me.
I have had some close calls throughout my life. But then, I suppose all of us have had a few. I am ready for (as Jeff Stanley says) part B.
I have endured 3 brain surgeries for a benign tumor in my pituitary gland. It was not the best part of my life. But I survived all that in spite of the unbelief around me.
I love to tell people I haven't had a bad day in 38 years. Then, explain that while this is true, I have had some HARD days. Perspective is a good thing to have (and a vocabulary).
I moved to Comfort, Texas in May of 2013. It is a small town about 30 miles northwest of San Antonio. I have a motorcycle and love to ride in the hill country where there is less traffic and lots of great scenery.
The top shelf best part of my life is in the fact that I learned "HOW" to rightly-divide God's Word. This is the biggest thing that distinguished us in the 70's & 80's. It wasn't Athletes or Way Prod or even speaking in tongues. The fire of the Word is still burning for me. It is all I have. Nothing else in this life can touch it. Especially not ego or talent. The Way Corps Poem is still in my blood stream.
My Interests
Still have a passionate interest in the Bible. A little in business and music. But not the music business. .I play guitar and bass and bang chords on the piano.
I've developed a keen interest in gold and the economy (that sure looks like it could collapse). There are a lot of believers who think God will meet our needs even in a collapse. I know this is positive believing and all that. But makes me pause and consider Joseph. What if he had taken that position? Egypt would have been hit just as hard as all the other countries. Of course, God will meet our need. Qhy couldn't buying gold now set us up to have our need met?
Employment or Career
medically-retired I was in sales for about 30 years. Sold radio advertising, computers, janitorial supplies. Loved it but never saw the prosperity possible in the highest paid profession. I used the skills learned in the job to develop my witnessing skills. I've gotten pretty good at the art of witnessing. I am planning to build a huge business with gold. If you haven't seen this video, enjoy it. I spent a few years keeping watch on this company and now I am an affiliate. Gold coins are too volitile since they are owned by the government and we are only the bearer. As a seller you have to pay for the proof of its value. But this company has the highest security in the world for proving the purity of it's product.
Of course, I believe Corps should have Gold and Guns and everyone is invited to contact me with any inquiries.

Books I Like
Rarely read much of anything but the Bible. My eyes are going dim so I don't have a desire for anything but the Bible now. But when I did, Tom Clancey was my favorite, mostly now, I read the Bible and thats about it. Can't say I'm very cultured.
Television I like
I am mainly interested in movies. Bones is a good show. That is about it. I am starting my own movie collection. I figure I only need about 80-100. I would rather watch movies than television. Too many commercials and cable is a waste of time and money for me.
Movies I like
I would rather watch 20 yr old movies than the new stuff Hollywood markets. I enjoy almost all kinds except thrasher and stupid ones like Pulp Fiction and the Divinci Code. Guess you could say I'm very opiniated about such works. Many of Hollywoods works in the past decade have been a huge disappointment. I would rather watch a movie I've seen a dozen times than to watch some of the crap they've produced. I prefer older movies. Hollywood has called crap art for much too long.
Sports Teams I like
Dallas Cowboys,NE Patiots. Rarely have time to keep up with either. I like the Spurs but basketball is not my favorite sport. The season is much too long and they are so good, it is a bit boring to me.

Good to hear from you. I'm glad I made you laugh all those years ago. In our final year of residency someone came up to me and shouted, "Does EVERYTHING have to be funny?" I took the criticism to heart and decided I needed to be serious, because I thought that being cynical and funny would affect my credibility as a leader. In retrospect, now that we're away from that "mind-rape", I'm glad I had as much fun as I could. Let's see, I was a “converting” liberal guy from New Orleans who was struggling with his sexual identity living in a cloistered compound which was operated by a bunch of straight homophobes. The only alternative to humor in that setting would have been suicide! And that, my friend, wasn’t a far fetched consideration on a couple of occasions. Being from New Orleans, where celebrating life and exploiting fun is part of the culture, I had the perspective I needed to keep a sense of balance through those times.
I wasn't living in New Orleans after graduation because we were assigned to Waterbury, Connecticut, so I'm sorry but I don't have any memories of you being here. Too bad you passed up on the book opportunity; I guess there's still time to cash in on the idea. Although my fellow New Orleanians have taken quite a beating over the last 2½ years and I think most folks are tired of it. It’s hard enough living through the worst catastrophe in U.S. history, and still we’re bombarded from all sides with every negative comment and report that folks can think of. Despite the negative reports and opinions there are actually good people that live here who have wonderful lives, have successful careers, have raised healthy and intelligent children and who are genuine, loving and caring. Thanks for sharing your views and comments. It makes me thankful for the choices I’ve made. All the best to you Ric, Tommy

Great to hear from you! Do you know where Luling, TX is? It's 50 miles east of San Antonio. My parents have retired to their small ranch there and we visit pretty often. I'll think of you when we pass by San Antonio. Erin
