Mike and Lisa Tracy replied to Ted Ferrell's discussion Tom Weakland
"Ted, that kind of history should be preserved somehow somewhere.  It was new to me anyhow - and I think that the background information like that makes the music even more enjoyable. "

  • LOVE your family photos. Wishing you the best this Holiday Season and throughout the New Year. . . . such great memories of the two of you (especially my dear friend, Lisa).
    Sheila
  • Book recommendation for you, Mike: Surprised by Hope by N.T.Wright. If you haven't read it, take a look next time you're in Barnes and Noble or Borders Books. Skip ahead to Section 3, "rethinking salvation" and see what you think.
  • Hey Mike... we must be online at the same time. Saw you just posted to my page. Yes, I consider Lincoln to be one of the great souls of our country's history. I was unaware of the museum at Springfield. Will have to get out there sometime. I'd really like to get to Monticello and Fallingwater, too.

Loved your pics! My favorites are Lisa with the Generals, and Lobster Claus.... too funny!
  • Hey Mike - glad you enjoyed the Blog. Best to you and Lisa, and you're great looking family.
  • Hey! Good to see you! Are you still living in the same house? Although, I'm not sure I could find it with all the development out that way!

We were back there in June right after the river crested - what a mess. Heartbreaking after growing up in so many of the areas that were flooded the worst. Janelle told me that Shelly and Mike's house was in the affected area. Any idea how they are doing?

    Give Lisa my love.

    Jeanne
  • Thanks, Mike, for the welcome. It's great to see how God has blessed your family. I use some of Lisa's music at times in the classroom to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. God bless.
    with agape, Ken
  • Mike, you look just like you did back in the day! As I was in my youth, I still need a haircut and a job... Good to hear from you, Sandy
  • Hey Mike: My wife is also a CFP or howeve3r you are suppose to say it. She does most of her work though a CPA firm she works at. She manages their Tax Work, as she has a reputation for being the absolute best in the city, As a matter of fact there is a long list of lawyers, Insurance agents and others always calling her to refer clients to her. The type of practice you have sounds a lot different from what she does..

After graduation I went into Insurance in Des Moines with a company called American Republic. I was the #2 salesman in the company my 1st year with them and received a ring for my work. Later after being kicked ourt of Des Moines, I was in Grand Rapids next and I started out by working for Mutual of Omaha As a Sales Manager.

Later I went and got a series 7 and a series 8 liscense and stated a company called Executive Compensation Administrators. It went well except for the fact that at the time there was no Software out there that could do what I wanted and that was daily share valuation of Pension plans. That led me to start another company named Cima Ovest DSV. It took over a year but we finally had a workable copy of the Daily share valuation software. I sold Cima Ovest to my partner and came out with a good amount of money and watched as 4 months later he did not have a two nickels to rub together. When I lefty the field of FP in 1993 I didn't look back and whenever anyone asks me anything about the market I tell them the truth. the market will go uo anbd the market will be bad. No longer do I analyze charts. wear a suit to work etc. Being a professional Rock Climber in the flat lands of Michigan is a great way to go.

Please give Lisa my love and I hope our paths will cross again soon. When we were in residence her and I went door to door witnessing on Saturday afternoons. We had a blast doing and we did it not becausr that was what the corps was doing or were suppose to do but we love God so that was why. It was a great time. Do you live near Des Moines? Our two years there were very hard but we as newlyweds had a great time doing whatever.
  • Hi Mike:
I was going to call but then I can't speak loud enough to be heard on the phones. Someday I promise I will call you
