About Me
We moved from the Twin Cities in Minnesota to Michigan in 1997. I loved Minnesota, but it was easier for me to start a business in Michigan because my family is here.
I married Becky Breaux, an authentic Cajun, and we've produced two daughters and a son. My second daughter presented us with a grandchild who is the newest light in my life. I was standing at the receiving end and caught the baby at her birth.
My Interests
My pastimes are cooking and tinkering with the landscape. Auto repair, plumbing, electrical wiring, and small appliance repair are my other "hobbies" because I can't get anyone else to do them.
Employment or Career
I own a shop that fabricates countertops and custom commercial cabinets. We work in granite, quartz, solid surface, and wood. It's grown a lot, but the rotten economy is putting a squeeze on us now.
Before this endeavor, Pitney Bowes employed me as a national account executive. It was a great job, but it wasn't mine.
Music I Like
Eddie Robinson, the Kinks, John Prine, BeauSoleil, Norah Jones, Paul Brubeck, Bela Fleck, Bluegrass, Western Swing, and Hannah Montana
Books I Like
The best novel I've read recently is Richard /Ford's "The Lay of the Land". He has a stunning vocabulary and a phenominal ability to state things in ways I've never imagined. If you love well-crafted writing, this is the book.
Television I like
TCM, and off-beat shows that seldom make it to a second season. I usually watch movies on the upper channels where the commercials can't fly.
Movies I like
"What's Up, Doc?" has made me laugh for over 30 years. I took a WOW sister to see the movie and found out what "rolling in the aisles" means: I laughed so hard that I slid out of my seat and down to the floor.
Sports Teams I like
If they are selling beer in the aisles, I like all sports teams. If not, give me synchronized swimming.

Dean, thank you for taking a moment to write. Yes, we're keeping the Way Corps site alive... Thank you for your support! It seems important to reach out to the Corps alumni regularly. It helps us remember who we are, and our calling.
Let's stay in touch!
God bless,
Steve
Hello Dean - it has been a long time. Lisa and I were with Fred Grant this past weekend and he asked me to say hello for him. I know he would like to say hello for himself. Neither one of us has your contact information though. Mike
Live it up big: eat a big slice of cake, blow out every single last candle, dance a jolly jig and laugh a lot!
I was poking around the web site this evening, and saw you left us a message months ago! Guess I need to get on here more often. Great pictures of your family! You all look very happy together. I'm still waiting on grandchildren - my oldest is 24, and has a new boyfriend...
When Nina and I married, my belt size shot up from a 34 to a 38 in one year, and has stayed put since. I actually have to think about things like watching my weight.
God bless you,
Charlie
