LewEllyn Hallett commented on Michael Schiano's blog post Baby, bathwater, bathtub, shower curtain...
"Hard to believe it's been that long, and interesting to read the comments and see where we were. I've evolved in many ways--new degree, new career, a couple of new homes in a couple of states, and my kids well set on their own paths. But none of us…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Peter R. Doliber's blog post Update from 2008
"I hope Peter didn't go. I just caught up belatedly with this blog thread and appreciated his heartfelt post very much. I understood (I think) his purpose, or need to communicate his perspective on time spent in The Way. Sorry to bring this thread…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Sarah Wilkinson's blog post Writing
"Steinbeck is a favorite of mine, going back to high school when I devoured all his books one after another. He had incredible insight into the struggles and heart of the common man, and expressed it so powerfully as you've illustrated here. As…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Karl Edwards's blog post First Century Church in the Twenty First, “No Thanks”
"Glimpses into the lives of these men and their daily actions is intriguing, more so to me at this point than word studies et al. However, there are a lot of "if"'s in the post above. We can never know what those books or scrolls were, or if it was a…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Karl Edwards's blog post First Century Church in the Twenty First, “No Thanks”
"Wow. You did put effort, study and thought into this topic, Karl. And on that basis alone, I think it deserves respectful response. I do not have time to read the entire second post this morning, but your conclusions are interesting. I do relate to…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Karl Edwards's blog post First Century Church in the Twenty First, “No Thanks”
"I feel foolish myself commenting here because I usually avoid posts on Biblical topics--I'm not into Biblical research these days and don't have much to contribute on that score. But on a rare visit to the site, I happened onto Emil's blog where he…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Sarah Wilkinson's blog post Writing
"Wonderful insights, Sarah, thanks. As a reader, I tend toward novels for reasons she expressed -- I experience people, places, cultures, conditions unknown to me. And it's not a cerebral learnning; it's the heart, bone, blood, and guts of the…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Sarah Wilkinson's blog post On the Road Again!
"WOW. People think I move a lot but now I realize I've been pretty stationary. Now I still have this question, tickling around in my head, because a year is barely time to get half the boxes unpacked and you're off again -- Why? What inspires you to…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on John Richeson's blog post The Spiritual "Cold Shoulder"
"Thanks, Karen, and my thoughts are indeed here where so many old friends and memories are rekindled. However, I actually can rule out God. That was my point, I guess. I've observed that it's difficult for current Christians to accept that Bible…"

  • Hello LewEllyn and Christopher!!! I was blessed when I came across your site and when I saw Christopher, I was elated. For years I have always wondered the whereabouts of many that played an influential role in my life. Certainly, Christopher teaching me to prune, cut, split, stack a cord, use a chainsaw are skills I still use today. Just the other day in-fact! But, one of the memorable lesson was 'to let go and trust a rigging he had just taught me to tie, to descend a tree when pruning it'. A moment I certainly remember.

God's abundant blessings to the both of you and your beautiful family. Will endeavor to keep in touch and I do have photooos. lol
  • LewEllyn,

I just wrote you a long email, looked it over when I finished. Then I wrote the short one below. When I looked for the first one, it was gone! I'm bummed, and have no more time to write now. Guess I'll redo it later.

    Love,
    Kathy
  • Wow, I just read the poem. How beautiful, thought provoking...you have such ability. I had no idea about all the education you've had, as well as experience. It inspires me to pursue writing in some fashion.

  • Hi LewEllyn,

Thanks for writing! So good to hear from you. I see you won a poetry award...I haven't clicked on it yet. I hope I'll get to read the poem! I started writing a bit last summer; have no idea if I'm good, but I love words...rhyming...sharing something important to me.

It sounds like you live in a beautiful place...wow. I've never been to MA at all. You're quite the photographer too, if those were taken by you. What a beautiful family you have.

I was touched by your paragraph about lack of fellowship, etc. I concur with you. Tim & I started a book club recently with a lot of past WC grads and a few other believers. It's interesting. We'll see where it goes from there.

Love you...come see us in Idaho! It's pretty, too.

  • Hi LewEllyn,

Karsten says hello to you and to Christopher! Perhaps someday we could meet up in Boston.

  • Hi LewEllyn: How are you all doing? Is Lilly coming back to michigan? How is her climbing going? I am still doing therapy to get back to climbing. Usually that means I do laps on 5.7-5.9. and a minimum of 1000 feet a day of this. Pretty boring after a while. Well, I hope to hear from you sometime soon, God bless you lots
  • Hi LewEllyn, Sorry it took a month to get back to you. Of course I remember you from the old Annapolis days. You and Steve were engaged I believe when I met you. The fun times at Danny and Pilar's house. I make it back to Annapolis every 3 or 4 years to see my brothers and sister who live there. Did you work at the Way Magazine? Hope all is well with you and good to hear from you. Brian
  • Hi, God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ! Your family looks great. The girls have really grown. They are beautiful. Give our love to Christopher and the family.

    Much love,

    Jerry Weller
  • Lulu,

Do you remember us...Paul & Rita Gerlach? You stood up for me - Rita - at the Rockville Courthouse when Paul and I got married in 1978. We live in Frederick, Maryland with our two sons. I am a published author...writing historical fiction. I have a website if you'd like to check it out at http://ritagerlach.com/

    Fondly,
    Rita Gerlach
  • God's richest, LewEllyn!

It was indeed a wonderful time!
Father continues to encourage us to live with Him and work with Him to bring His word and will to pass in this world...
Was very blessed to meet you also...
