"Ha, ha, love that you can toot your own horn, John!  Who indeed!
That was fun, and yes, John, that is what I remember about my time in the Corps.
If this was a cult, it was the most fun I ever had!

"Hi Judy,
I am currently not a part of a group of believers (not by choice, but by distance).  Boy oh boy! Do I miss that personal fellowship!  I've found that local Church groups need more healing than I do.  (Just an observation - the Lord knows). …"

We also do a Sunday Service. If someone told me when I was in the Way Corps that I would be doing this,
I would have laughed out loud.…"

I've heard of a BibleWorks software that has concordance/lexicon and am wondering if anyone is using it.  Since I'm still at the horse and buggy stage (using concordance and lexicon in book form), I'm wondering if anyone has any online…"

  • Dear Judy,
    God Bless you in Christ.
You look as wonderful as the day I met you; you never aged.
Just wanted to say Hi, your in my prayers.
    Love in Him,
    Joe
  • Judy!!! You are funnier than ever! What a year that was, huh? I also have some fun photos that will tickle you and bring back lots of sweet and hilarious memories. Oh, Judy, what a cast of characters! And remember Saffron and Seymour the cats? Weren't you allergic to cats?

Anyway, about Jon and Lisa... haven't heard a peep from them for about 20 years. I sure hope they're doing well, those little wippersnappers. Yes, intervention.

Well, we're lovin' living in San Diego. We have the pleasure of fellowshipping with wonderful believers here and the truth of God's Word is still the greatest most incredible thing in our lives!
  • Hey, the kids aren't ours, they are our nephews & niece, courtesy of Felix's sisters (10th C) Annette & Jeanette Schmidt, which is why we can still conjugate sentences, mostly....
  • Hi Judy
Don't think I have had the pleasure of meeting you but I too got a Seattle assignment way back in '78 and never left.
East sider though and love it. Good to see another WA Corps on the site.
  • Hello dear Judy,
I have nothing but fond memeories of you, and I have no doubt that you still have your Dirty Dozen t-shirt. That was classic art, and God-breathed at that. I guess you are still in WA, as that is the last place I saw brother Lambert. Please give him my love. I do hope that you are well, and I hope to see your smiling face one of these days. I don't have time to be on this site too much, so I basically see only comments to me, but I'll see if I can find the 12th Corps stuff you mentioned. I love you dearly.
    John
  • with 2 beautiful prizes like your kids,,,,,,,,,you were not to old....they are gorgeous, you should be very proud,I know you are. you never answered my questions, please do! the first one i sent you..........i just talked to dino yesterday........you know joe fell asleep right. paul
  • Sheesh, that had to be me, 'cause I remember how big a deal it was to be a TC in the Corps and all the hierarchical crap that went with it! You were so nice and I remember the "Leadership" really yanked your chain a lot 'cause you weren't the typical egotistical asshole that they wanted us to be! It's so funny that some parts of the Corps are just a blur and others so vivid! Dino Micheletti and I must have spiced that twig up!! Two wops together under one twig -- could have been explosive! And I think Mike was really mellow too and not buying into the mean crap. I guess I do remember Tom and Gayle, 'cause married Corps were so hard to get to know and I was pleasantly surprised by them.

I've e-mailed Kirsteen about the group, so maybe she'll get on line! Johnnie boy is still a cutie although more distinguished (gray) and still single and no kids! Such a waste!!

I am very familiar with Todd's Shipyard and have been to the Owl and Thistle. It's still there, and boy, those were the good old days in Pioneer Square. It's not quite as happening now, but whaddoIknow? I'm too old and tied with children to go out clubbin'!! It's too bad so many of us lost touch when we got out, we could have at least still had a good time!!

When I saw the picture of the young man with the candle in his mouth on his birthday I went oh, my God, that's you! I knew right away it wasn't your sons (although they're all very handsome) It's that classic Kevin Nye look! Good to catch up!
    Judy B.
  • Judy, saw your comment to Jean on the 12korks thread, my God what a shock about Cindy. I am so sorry to hear that she is gone. Another dear one of God we shall see again some day soon. You are just as I remember you, seems as if you are enjoyin' the h out of life. love you, girl.... Felix
  • Well, first of all, you are still the Italian Beauty that I remember, and I do think you were in my twig when they finally allowed me to be a TC during the 2nd to last block of my last year. In that twig was Dino Micheletti, Tom and Gayle Perkins, You (I thought), and a tenth Corps gal by the name of Sue Blackmore and oh yeah, a 10th Corps guy by the name of Mike Kasiak. Does that ring a bell?

Yeah, no sex scandals for me either dagnabbit! Hah! And so, you had dinner last night with Kirsteen McDowall and John Lambert? Wow! Kirsteen and I were in North Dakota on our interim year together, although she was west of me in a town called Dickenson, I think. And handsome young John and I were Way Builders together for a short time in Gunnison. My oh my how the girls had the hots for that boy! He was a good guy, and I remember seeing him in Seattle when we came down from AK for Corps meetings. Probably saw you there too.

Ya know, when I worked on Alaska's ferries, I spent a lot of time in Seattle at Todd's Shipyard on Harbor Island between 1993 and 2001. I'd spend at least 2 months out of each year there, living on the ship while we overhauled it while she was up in drydock. Used to "go up town" along Alaska Way and up to Pioneer Square to the clubs and such. Lots of fun, that. Used to go to the "Owl And Thistle" alot. That's an Irish Pub down in that neighborhood.

And so, if you see Kirsteen and John again, or any other Ex-Wayfers, tell 'em I said how dee do!

    With Love,

    Kevin
