Hey,

I would love to know about what paths our lives took after leaving the Way Corps, specifically any church or bible study that you delved into after leaving The Way.

I was just turned onto Bible Study Fellowship by Donna (Stahl) Mahoney, formerly of the Way College, and it is really fun to be studying with a group again!

Do you have any great suggestions or groups you enjoy?

Please share!

  • Hi Judy,

I am currently not a part of a group of believers (not by choice, but by distance).  Boy oh boy! Do I miss that personal fellowship!  I've found that local Church groups need more healing than I do.  (Just an observation - the Lord knows).  Being single has its advantages and disadvantages.  The disadvantages are numerous.  Just the major one, is not having a familiar friend to come 'home' to.  The advantages of being single include a major benefit, also...I can relate to anyone who is disconnected from family.  That seems to be a major counseling issue...people are disconnected - mainly from God. But, they are stuck in familial disconnection, as well.  They need the Savior to get the healing going.

Do you know the verse that says; "the righteous are bold as a lion" ?  (I thought you did).  God has entrusted wisdom about Him and our salvation to us, and "we cannot help but speak those things which we have seen and heard".  Many times, to walk this way in boldness, so sets us apart that we can feel pretty lonely.

Fellowship is the answer to this.  If you are in a location that you are seeking a fellowship of believers, and there seems to be none available, then do what Jesus did....talk to the next person.  But, I understand that sometimes we need to be refreshed. Then we are the ones to "go to fellowship".

Shoot. I think i just answered all my own questions on this one!

  • I teach a Bible Study at a store front church in the inner city of Manchester, NH, with a couple of ex wayfers.

We also do a Sunday Service. If someone told me when I was in the Way Corps that I would be doing this,

I would have laughed out loud. But when you go where Gog leads you,

you often end up in places you wouldn't have gone on your own.

  • Hey, y'all!

I've heard of a BibleWorks software that has concordance/lexicon and am wondering if anyone is using it.  Since I'm still at the horse and buggy stage (using concordance and lexicon in book form), I'm wondering if anyone has any online concordance/lexicon that they just love!

  • Wow, Ric, that was wonderful!  And refreshing!  You did so much to help me remember the useful things we learned, to ask questions, take an interest, and I forgot all about the greatest sin a man can commit!  I do believe your memory is better than mine!  Plus how you remember the PFAL class was all about HOW and your commitment to witnessing. You've inspired me!  I had a bad taste in my mouth about "having" to witness, instead of wanting to!  You make it sound so fun and easy (like it could be)!

    Thanks!

  • I can only say that my passion for God and His Word and teaching others is as vital now as ever. I've discovered freedom I never knew and an intimacy with God that is undeniable. I'm not part of a "ministry" nor do I have an agenda when I go to the store. I just witness to anyone with a breathing apparatus and two ears. I take them as far as I can go.. When people ask me where I leaned this stuff, I refer to a lot of people with a like-passion (meaning all of you) and much of what I know is in the Bullinger Companion Bible. It gives me greater credibility and it is true. Then I pull out the CB and they light up with the things I show them.

Dr. said in PFAL that it was not a class on the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It was a class on "HOW". I still subscribe to the same discipline.

I am amazed at the many witnessing strategies in PFAL. 'You walk down the street in your community this week and ask people "What is the greatest sin a man can commit?" ' So, I've learned to ask questions. It is very effective.

It is also remarkable how many people have different understandings of getting born again. Everything from 'asking Jesus to come into their heart' to the 'sinner's prayer'. There is a big job to do in simply teaching Romans 10:9.

Figures of speech are more fun than a roller coaster, as well.
  • Beautiful way to put it!

  • Cool, keep up the God work!
