  • John,

I posted a tribute to my late sister-in-law, Phyllis, and I had hoped to include a slide show of photos along with one of her songs playing in the background. I couldn't, however, figure how to pull the whole thing off, and so the tribute didn't come out as I had planned. What do I need to do make it happen? Michael Kasiak has a place a version of Phyllis singing "I Don't Know About Tomorrow" on his Way Corps page, but I'm not sure if I it can be used on my page as well. Let me know what can be done, if anything.

A second point of interest that I think you might appreciate is that today is Dave Brubeck’s 90th birthday. Clint Eastwood, who is a jazz fan extraordinaire, has released a documentary focusing on Brubreck, and it is premiering today. I’m hoping to write an Examiner.com article about the event and to include comments regarding my appreciation for jazz, as reflected in some of my poetry. I’ll send you the link, once I post it. I chuckled when I pulled up your page, and what should be playing in the background but “Take Five.” As I scrolled down to make a comment, I noted your comments regarding the award Dave Brubeck received at the Kennedy Center. What an example he is of so many admirable qualities.

    God bless.
  • Snow began falling this morning but not much accumulation, 3-5 inches where I live. I am so terribly sorry you, Hope, and the others 'stuck' in FL. can not make 'snow angels' as we in the 'snowbelt' are able to do today. Perhaps when you come to 'your senses' you will come experience the finer things in life the north has to offer.

    Yup!, Nashville sounds good!
  • Hi John,

Thanks for making this site. I have already heard from several old friends. One of the emails you sent me referred to a video link. The words "Click here for the video" were not connected to a link. I looked elsewhere in the body of the email and couldn't locate one. I would enjoy learning more of the sites features.
  • Hey Richeson! Glad to see you changed the heading to Merry Christmas on the "Home Page', I thought for a moment you were a 'commie-pinko' type guy wishing me a Happy Holiday.

OR...is the ACLU still monitoring this here Web site?, was another thought that had 'popped' into my head.

Another thing: Has Bailey ever become a citizen of the USA, does he have his 'green card', or is he still illegal? Just Askin'!
  • John,
Sometimes you go thru life not really aware of the quality of the people you're around...BUT by their fruits you shall know them. That is true of you and in a very good way. From 'your tree' there has been borne some fine and faithful fruit for others to enjoy. And, your greeting and remembrance of my birthday is one more of many examples of your heart, thoughfulness and connectivity to others from the past. Blessings to you good friend!

  • Hi John...God bless you & Hope.
Got one question for you. I'll email it to you.
  • Thanks for the birthday and holiday blessing.God's blessings back at ya.
  • Hi John, while talking with a customer my eyes were opened. We discussed our kids and how that we would have taught more about wise and foolish, compared to good or bad. Wise thinking brings more personal accountability. There seems to be loop holes in good or bad,ei...what's good for one is bad for another. I think I'll endevor to instill wise thinking from this point on. Bless you brother.
  • John,

Here I am with a couple of technical questions, some of which are related to the Way Corps site. In looking over the In Memoriam site for our Corps brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the Lord, I did not see my late sister-in-law, Phyllis (Warren) (Murdock, who died in 1990. I am working on a tribute to her, and I wanted to include some photos which I am collecting from my mother-in-law. She was a member of the 10th Corps and was involved with Way Productions, but I can’t recall the name of the musical group she was a part of. One of the songs that she sang was “I Don’t Know about Tomorrow.” I don’t have a copy of a recording that she sang, but I believe that Lisa Tracy has a version of the song which I would like to include. I hope to get the photos and copy of the tribute ready tomorrow which I’d like for you to look over.

My second question, oddly enough, also relates to Lisa Tracy. Mike just sent me a recording of Lisa singing “I’m Thankful”, one of my all-time favorite songs. Last year around this time, I published on my Examiner.com page my Top 10 Thanksgiving Songs—traditional and contemporary. This year I would like to include Lisa’s recording. She does not have a YouTube version that I could use, but I’m wondering how I might use the mp3 version that I have to come up with a YouTube with a photo or series of slides. How difficult is it to produce something like that? Here is the link to listing of songs so that you can see what I have in mind if I add Lisa’s song to my list.

Let me know what you think regarding both questions.
As always, I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks so much for your assistance.

  • John, Thanks for the birthday greeting. I remain thankful for The Word I have been made responsible for and the beautiful people God has allowed me to know over the years. The best years are still to come and the hope of eternity awaits those of us who call upon His name. Thank you for allowing people who reconnect with old friends and hopefully reconnect with the purpose of the ages. God bless, Don
