Susan and I did do some of the eco tours at Pura Vida--the rain forest, the volcano, WW rafting hiking through the coffee plantation. Susan also went to some butterfly habitat but I took that day off to read a book! My favorite thing about the spa was their hot tub under the stars, overlooking the city lights in the valley below--spectacular!
Yeadon and Jessica just had a baby boy BTW named William who has lovely red hair just like Yeadon. They are thrilled. Linda went out to help with the birth and apparently it all went very well (textbook perfect, she said)
Your community down there sounds like it will be lots of fun and very interesting. We'll have to come see you down there sometime but I hope we get to see you in TX in December on our way to see Tom and Cathy in AZ.
We'll keep you posted. Right now we're in Orlando for a conference. We'll be heading back to DC next week because an old friend of ours lost her father and he's being buried at Arlington a week from tomorrow. Then back to SC for Thanksgiving etc. (and we thought this life would be a little less frenetic!)
Lots of love,
Stanley
The Yoga Spa was up in the mountains surrounded by a coffee plantation--really spectacular. Their web site is http://www.puravidaspa.com/
What is the Tico community? Is that the name of the town where you are building? Are you thinking of moving there permanently? I thought it was quite lovely--travel to and from was a bit long, but, hey--you and John are younger than we are! My neices and nephews who've been in Mexico on the mission field all did total immersion and found it very helpful--the biggest thing is to get over your fear of looking foolish when you're learning another language!
Keep us posted on developments. Love hearing from you.

I can't imagine trying to build and furnish a place down there. Do you two speak Spanish?
We'll definitely let you know if we get near Plano on our travels.
Thanks for keeping in touch. I love this.
