David Wilensky 8th corps

David Wilensky of the 8th Corps passed away a little over a week ago....He was a great friend and a memorable soul...He had been a sounding board for so many through the years ,including me, and I will miss dialing that familiar number at all hours...the man never seemed to need any sleep.

  • I’m sorry to hear that he passed. Thx for letting us know.
  • A unique individual.
  • Laine, I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. David was my WOW coordinater in Milwaukee WI in the early 80's. He took me from crayons to perfume spiritually and literally saved my life. I'll forever be indebted to him. God will certainly not forget the labor of love that he invested during his life, nor the hours he didn't sleep. Neither will I. He always said sleep was one of life's necessary evils. He didn't want to miss a thing! It's funny but I realized that I had married a man with the same kind of tenacity. Gotta love 'em! Sorry I had not kept in touch with him, but I look forward to doing just that after the return of Christ. He was a great man and beloved brother.
  • Thank you, Laine, for your moving reflection of David's life and person. My husband, John, and I, as well as Mark and Holly Lewis, were in LA with David and his wife in the late 80s during an extremely difficult transition in all of our lives. David's "tell it like it is" manner was deeply appreciated by all of us. I was stunned and saddened by the news of his passing and I regret that we did not remain in better touch with David. I went to wish him a Happy Birthday on his facebook page and was greeted by postings of friends expressing the sadness of their loss and also their joy of knowing him. Thanks to Howie Parthum for his kind explanation to me. If I'd checked in here sooner I would have known. Thank you, John, for giving honor to those who have gone on before us.
  • Can someone send me a picture or pictures of him? I would be glad to link those to his name here.
  • He had recently moved from Cal to Louisiana and was with a woman named Joann....he was a brilliant scientist and traveled through the years all over the world with work...had 2 children who were his life. He kept in touch with numerous people and made time for lengthy conversations about anything and everything. He was one of the kindest and most loyal people I have ever known...wickedly funny and had a "say it like I see it" personality. He was always interested in the details of the lives of others and those of us (there are many) who stayed in touch were grateful for his honesty and rather abrasive verbage at times. Although he wasn't well, he never let on that the problem was serious...it was all about "you" not him. He seriously never seemed to sleep and knew so much about so many things...a personal google site...a great guy who will be not only missed but very much remembered...
  • Laine, I remember David from my first year in residence. We were all such kids. He was a very nice man. Can you remind us more of his life and where he lived. Thanks. Have a Blessed Day. Let us cast all our care. 1 Peter 5:7.
  • Oh Laine, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear friend and our brother, David. Love you, Donna
