Guess what? I tried using my Safari browser and it worked! I added a comment to someone's page and it went through. I'm clueless as to why Firefox would prevent my comments from going through. It never has before. I checked my preferences…"

  • Hi Janie,
Sorry to take so long to reply to your comment, I appreciate the feed-back on my work. Its always nice to hear encouraging words.

  • I checked out the wild rice restaurant web site. it looks awesome. i know that parkside in austin uses interns in the kitchen. i love the idea of "house call vet" and my 2 cats and 1 dog agree, especially the cats.
i'm actually surprised that i've found any people on this site that actually think even remotely like i do. have a good mother's day.
  • no, she graduated from michigan state university and wanted to move somewhere warm and welcoming. she's been in austin for about 11/2 years. we were there over easter and had a great time. went to stubbs for gospel brunch. our friend marty in an adjunct professor at UT, teaches family law. what's your daughter studying?
  • My daughter works at Parkside in Austin as an event planner. Shawn Cirkiel is the chef/owner. My husband and I grew up with his dad in the bronx. it's on 6th. street. your kids probably know the restaurant but if not tell them to check it out.

  • Harm is fine, living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, volunteer limb coordinator for The Way and in business for himself (nearly as I can tell) as a corporate pilot. He turned 51 last Monday, still married to Debra (Sleeper) with two boys, Tim and Joseph. We see each other once a year or so when he happens to fly into Toledo and I can get away to meet him for lunch. I'll say hello to him the next opportunity I have if what's left of my memory can handle it.

  • Love the photos! You guys look GREAT! Sent you a "private" email about a possible get-together. Hope it works out.
  • thanks, janie!
  • Thanks so much. Have a great day!!!

  • i'm not an atheist, either. i guess i'm not any kind of "-ist." for a while after leaving twi, my philosophy was "if it makes you happy, great." i've migrated a bit from that in my head and heart, but i don't usually voice it--my experience is, i won't convince anyone anyway. and i'm not really sure i want to convince anyone of anything! it's not like i have answers. i still have questions, but now i'm OK with that. it seems to me it's not people with questions that are dangerous. it's people who insist they have the answers.

hope you had a great thanksgiving. now let's ramp up for christmas!
  • ha! "eavesdropping" is standard operating procedure around here. i don't know where i know john s. from--could be dallas, i don't know!

glad to hear you agree--i'm thinking we're in the minority here, big time!

we're local for t'giving. going to my sister's house, about 20 minutes away. got my kids this year, so all's right with the world!

say hi to john. have a happy day.
