  • Dear Gail,
Well, f i n a l l y someone noticed! (Ha, ha -- just kidding.) I was just talking the other night to my daughter, Jennifer, about lesson planning (in regards to what I did at Indy) because she will soon graduate with her Education and Spanish Education degrees. I really enjoyed working with those kids because they were so sweet and tenderhearted. I ran in to Mary West's son, David, (at Jane Guthrie's funeral in Seattle) who was in my class, and I couldn't believe my eyes! He's a grown young man, handsome, married, and just had his first child. It was hard to believe that so many years have passed by so quickly. Wow!
Forgive me, I've forgotten your little girl's name -- but I can see her in my mind's eye clearly. She was so tiny, delicate, and looked just like you. What is she doing now?
So you had three girls! You are very blessed! I have two and we are so close and enjoy such a sweet fellowship together -- and have lots of girly fun! I love my boy just as much, but he's a beast of the field like his father. I live with the two of them and don't stand a chance at equality! Actually, they do give in to me often and always treat me well. But I thank God for my girls.
    Please give Greg my love.
Thanks for remembering my labor of love in Indy.
Take care, Gail. I always liked you. No doubt you are still a very kind and humble lady.
    Love, Teresa
  • Hi Gail, so nice to hear from you! I see from your site that you contacted Theresa, who was my Limb Co-ordinator with Phil, in Michagan, where I moved after I married my husband Mike. I am blessed to hear about your lovely family and that you guys are still up in the beautiful state of Michigan. You will always be a part of my heart and yes, we were very young! Love, Laurie
  • What a delight to hear from you, as well as a surprise. And thank you for the sweet comments. Everyone turned out fine (thank God) and everyone is still standing strong for God, what more could I ask for :-) -- Funny you should bring up Lynn's shower, I was just thinking about that last week. I have been talking with her and she is still just a sweetheart. My heart is so blessed to see how everyone is doing and to connect with them. Thanks again for the sweet memories and take care. Teresa
  • Thanks for the note. I really appreciate it.
    Geraldl
  • It was good to hear from you. I live in Boydton, VA. I wish we still had the tenderness and love of God of those days. We are still in Christ and he's still coming back. I love you.
    In Christ,
    Gerald
  • GOD BLESS YOU!! What a wonderful Surprise! How is your family?
    Let's establish email. jimj@peridotus.com
  • I think I understand where you are comming from. It was a very different time back then, both within the ministry and with the state of our world! Believe me, that will all be part of my book!

My address is readily availiable, but it is new, so let me give it to you...

    Joe Purpura
    301 E. Birch Ave.
    Ritzville, Washington 99169

My phone number (also available out there) is 509-659-0700. I would really enjoy talking to you (to get YOUR perspective on MY Rome City years - it could help with my book!). If you have the time, give me a call!

    THANKS AND BLESS!

    Joe
  • Please forgive me!

I wanted to reply to you sooner, but I have been a bit busy lately.

Of course I remember you! To actually think we are talking now (that is, after almost 30 years since Rome City) - what a trip!

Yes I would like Greg and Cindy's address and phone - I have an address, but it may be old. I will check your address to mine. Also, if you have an email address, that would be great! I would like to email them. You can privately email the info to me at...

    joe@joepurpura.com

    Life is good for me...

I just bought a home in a small town in Rural Eastern Washington (that is, after living in Seattle for almost 22 years).

I moved here in part to finally concentrate on my writing. I am currently working on a book, with a working title being...

"Vision - Through the Eye of the Second, First Generation"

Think of it as a sequel to "The Way - Living in Love", but from the very unique perspective of the "Second, First Generation of Way Believers"!

It will ultimately cover a span of some 40+ years and by the time I am actually done with it, it should be a pretty long (but I hope, insightful) read!

Now being a "40-something" individual, I have quite a bit to tell!

I am planning on submitting another story on my Way Corps Blog...

"JUNIOR CORPS STORIES... What really happened!"

Look for it in about a week or two!

Anyway, enough for now. I would love to hear more about you and your family and…

WOULD DEFINITELY LIKE TO SEE SOME PHOTOS!

    Much Love,

    Joe Purpura (a.k.a. Joe Hanson)
