No, the Cape Coast picture was never entered in any contest. That place is beautiful and so somber. The boy was a village kid. He intrigued me because he was wearing a knit glove (like the ones you can buy at the dollar store). The glove…"

  • Hi Elizabeth!! I just looked at you pictures!!! Beautiful!!! Very Beautiful!!!!!
About that packing... I pack from the dryer to the suitcase! One carry on....Does not take much!!

We were leaving Monday...BUT my travel partner had an family emergency come up yesterday...........so... unless I go alone (which I have done before!) I will wait until Jan/Feb. Still kinda sitting on the fence. I don't know what the rush is... the fares a good anytime.
Actually... we did not need a visa to get into Thailand... could get one immediatly on line (or even at the airport) for Cambodia.. but we were too late to get one for Vietnam. So... this will give us more time...
Planning has never been my long suit! Thats why I have plan A.. B and G!!

The weather channel says you are getting SNOW! Lots of Snow! Its a long way from Charleston huh?

Every once in awhile we head back to Charleston... Other than Meeting St ... all the houses look the same... even the house on Folly Beach! BUT.. the traffic is just crazy.. its not a peaceful place at all!
I loved (ok... ,maybe just liked) the time we spent there...but its nice to be in NC.

But when we do go back we eat at Gennaros!!!!! (SP??)
Its Still the BEST Italian food EVER!!

    .....
  • Yes Life is good. Rawn was in Seattle last I heard but we are not in contact.
Teubs is still so Teubs! She was in Oregon and we are in touch off and on, I tried to call her a couple months ago but I don't think the number I have is right, hopefully she will call and check in with me soon and I can tell her about this site, she will love it! As do I! And you 2 can talk direct.
I have been in NY since graduation and with FedEx for 15 years, still single, no children. Married to the job I suppose and have 100 employees so..........I do have a very cool dog though! :)
I have been having a great time checking this site out in between working today. Can't wait to hear more from everyone, I really want to talk with Bonnie and catch up with her. Emil and I typed back and forth a bit today, this has just been fun to trip back down memory lane.
  • Hey there Girl!! What's this about teanage daughters?? You look great, I see you decided not to age! Nice going!
What else about you shold I know?
    Lori
  • Hey Elizabeth,
oh it does my heart good to see you here. I think about you so much and I come across photos all the time of you and the girls. I looked at the ones you have posted Kathryn and Olivia are beautiful young women. Patience and Emma are how I remember Kathryn and Olivia. That is Nick Max and Molly with my Parents at my Mom's 80th birthday last summer, Dad too 87. Wayne weighs under 200 lbs. He looks great. He lost it I found it!!! Weight Watchers here I come along with the gym. I gotta.
Give Randy my love and the girls. I hope we can keep up with each other here. I love you and so thankful for your life and all the love you have given me through the years. You are very precious to me.
Wow, look at all you have been doing. How fulfulling. I am thinking you aren't still homeschooling, how long did you do that?
Well, we have time to catch up. I just want to say I love you.

  • I really enjoyed studying law; it is based on contract, one man's word to another. And the case law is a fascinating look at how it all began. Certainly a great education, so I don't regret a minute of that. And I am happy to work part-time. We in the west have got it so good. I guess we forget to be thankful. Have you read the Kite Runner? That's a great book, I see they're making it into a movie. Also A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry is one of my fave books. India is a great place to visit, it changes you, it did me.
    Does Randy still build houses?
Ok penpal, hasta luego! It's sunny out, I'm goin' surfin.
  • dang... five yrs old.. 1000 miles... two countries through the bush.. NOW ya know..... all those words should NEVER be used in the same sentence. His journey began at FIVE YEARS OLD???!!!! OMG. Please NEVER let me whine about anything again... ever...
    OK.. Belize. Plans change.
    Actually there are no plans.
I usually have plan A B and C all going at the same time!..

so.. the plan is...Belize sometime whenever... BECAUSE... Plan A is NOW going to Thailand.... a woman from work and I are THINKING about going around Dec 10... She works for USAir also. We can fly r/t for about $220... more later....
  • Hi Elizabeth! Wow... I would lov eto hear how your evening panned out!! The young man met with his mother after all those years... brings a tear to the eye!
Kata 's husband .. George... is a really really nice guy. Supports her art.. They just got married a few years ago. The neat thing about Kata.. she 'walks her talk' more than anyone I know.
Our next trip? Not sure... maybe Belize in a few weeks. I would like to go before turkey day. I met this woman in the airport.. she and her sister own a beautiful spa in Belize ( www.maruba-spa.com ) .. we have been e mailing.. might 'trade' spa stay for some 'buddy passes'!!
I offered to 'fill in' if some of her massage therapists needed a vacaton! Geeezzz.... now where would THEY go for vacation? hummm....
Ya meet the neatest people in airports! tales to tell.

    More later..

again... hope the meeting went well..! Man... thinking about it... it could go a million different ways! (talking about your young man and his mother...)

  • Elizabeth, law sounds exciting, but ... Erin Brockovitch it ain't. Its mostly about money in some shape or form. As I only work parttime; I run errands lodging documents at court or Government departments, and do a bit of research. I used to work at the ATO, (IRS) so I know the ropes.
Peter came to Oz to coordinate but he is a New Zealander. When he came I was already out, so never saw him. I think Sean was country coordinator in NZ, I met some of his relos(relatives) at Sydney twigs. Dear Phil left before he graduated. Then he "came back" a few years later and actually stayed with me in my apt. He was a gentle soul; I recall he had secretly married a Phillipino girl and was supporting her and her vast family, whom she would not leave.
Can't remember how that all panned out... I think he left before I did.
Marco married a gorgeous girl from somewhere in the Balkans.
She took the class, but they moved way out to the burbs and stopped coming. No news for years now.
Heard from/about Joanne Archontakis, Eileen Diers, Cyndi Teuber?
  • Her art work is....funky! I have quit a few pieces.. not of the Jesus Art... but the Rock and Roll Icon stuff. When we visited her.. we got snowed in! They live in a round house south of Colorado Springs....could not get out for a few days.
Did we do art? oh no! I think thats why I got into Massage therapy.. I love working with my hands... but no talent!! more later... heading to work!!!
