One of those songs we sang for birthdays at Emporia from days ago. Don't know who wrote it but I am definitely sure that Leon Hanson did not, as I know members of the 8th and 10th Corps who remember singing it way back in them thar olden days. Leon wrote another good song though which required a lot of wind generation.

Ok I believe I have the answer from my own wife, Hope who has an awesome memory and is usually right on matters like this. Hope said:
"Cindi Heap Bernardini wrote that sometime when she was in-rez in the 6th. Don't recall if it was our first or last year. Any other 6th out there remember the details. I remember her teaching it to us..."
Janis - I do not believe that Leon Hanseon wrote that birthday song because we were singing it in the 7th Corps. I believe I may know its true origins. But I will have to confirm. PS - your link above does not work.
I loved all those birthday songs so much that I sang them to my dog and friends when given the opportunity so I could keep them active in my memory after I left.
