Debra Kline commented on John Lynn's blog post The Way. It Was.
"Apparently, since it's 1st showing until now, "the way it was" contention has pollutted our once flourishing, fun reunion site -- and distaste has become "the way it is. Yet again. So, where's "the profit" in all this?"

  • Hi Deb,

    God bless you.

A believer stopped by the other day, deciding to vent twenty some years of hurt and anger. I'm blessed it was finally off his chest and that he was able to leave blessed and somewhat thankful. But honestly, I really don't understand how you could let your life be stolen from you by staying in the same rut for twenty years.
The Truth was laid at my feet some years ago and yes, it was laid their by a man. No more needs to be said after learning that it was "a man".
Two natures. One righteous, one with no good thing. If you look in the dumpster, you will find trash.
It is so much easier to see what we have received and remain exceedingly thankful. I haven't been abused or used, I've been privileged to see some of the heart of the Creator of the heavens and the earth. I can open His book of love and disappear into His heart of grace and goodness.
If I've been abused, then please, abuse me some more!
Anyway, he left blessed and, at least for now, his heart is remembering God. Now it's time for a change in diet. It's time to stop feeding out of a dumpster.
Doug Toombs stopped by this afternoon, he wanted me to make sure I told you "hi" from he and Eileen. Joe Kranz also sends his love.

    Bless you Deb.
Enjoy your day, it's a great one.
  • Hi Deb, thanks for saying hi! Gosh, I miss those fun days...your picture of the 14th corps women...all of them...such incredible women with hearts of gold. It's so hard to believe it was so long ago. Will be so fun if there is a reunion one of these days. Love you you and look forward to seeing you one of these days! Judy I have lots of Way Corps pictures...somewhere in my garage...have been undergoing a major house renovation and cannot find a thing...am excited to post the pics when I find them. Take care sweetie...you are so beautiful!
  • Hi Deb,
    Yea, this is me!
I was sent here after Emporia, and yes, I've been here ever since. Just sitting in my livingroom and teaching fellowship to whomever desired to be there.
Sue and I are doing great...we have three kids - 23 yr., 19 yr., and 15 yr.
It was good to hear from you. I've often thought of you and how you were doing, keeping you in my prayers.
More later, but for now I have a 15 year old baseball team to go coach.
    Bless you Deb,
    David
  • Dear Debra, Thanks so much fro your message, you are so sweet! Bill and I are for the most part very happy. But for now, it’s hard to even think about how we are doing. Because we are trying to raise and navigate three teenagers through the hazards of the world, each with there own set of opportunities, stuff comes up daily, as you can imagine and most of the time it’s exasperating. I read a little of your site, you sound so wonderful! I would really love to chat with you some time. Love and blessing sally
  • Wow - nice to hear from you! Remember running around headquarters and doing retemories? Seems like a long time ago now. God bless!
  • Hi Debra,

I am Catina, Tina, Wilson & live just across the Bay in Pace. Met some believers last night, the Hutchins, who've just moved here from Ft. Collins, Co, I think. Jack & I have been married 28 years this July and always love to get together with other believers, especially "unusual"/ unique believers. Give me a call if you'd ever like to get together. We are in the book, or you can reach me at Catina_Wilson@sa01.org or cwjw@bellsouth.net

    God Bless you big,

    Catina

  • In my experience (both with the feds, and with a private company in Kansas) I only worked with the “severe” to the “profound.” After working with a 17 year old boy for a year (shadowing, giving verbal instruction, etc…) I finally got him to the point that when he ran his wheel chair into something; he would back up, turn, and go around it. Before that, if he ran into a wall, he would stop and wait for someone to come and redirect him. No one ever thought he could ever learn to maneuver his wheel chair on his own. When someone else saw him do it one day they were shocked! I hadn’t really thought about it because there was such little change from day to day over a year’s time, I hadn’t noticed.
I just thought of another incident involving a guy who was on my case load in Kansas. It would take too long to explain here. But, one day when I saw him functioning at such a high level, it made me cry. I remember going home every night and not being able to go to sleep right away because it takes so much out of me I had to let my mind wind down, but it is very rewarding. I’m sure you already know this.
  • Debra:
I finally went to your website. I did work in that field for a couple of years and became a QMRP (Qualified Mental Retardation Practitioner). I understand the Feds do not use that title anymore. But I was also a CMA so I could pass meds. That info came in handy raising two kids.

  • Debra, In Sarasota, haven't moved yet. Want to find a job first. As much as I would like to, don't think it wise to just pick up and move like we used to. Wouldn't mind staying in FL, but a little more north would be better. However will go where I get the offer.
