About Me
I've been living in El Paso, Texas since 1989. I have a 29 year old son named Danny, and a 24 year old daughter named Hope. I fellowship with Ken and Luz LaPrade, and am endeavoring to learn Spanish since most of the people in their fellowship have Spanish as their first language. I produced a series of articles under the title "Think On These Things" a few years back where I presented some of my observations from my own study of the Bible. I plan on writing a book entitled "Fear God, Not Man" in which I will present what I feel have been the most important things I have learned.
My Interests
Next to the study of the Bible, my second love has always been music. I enjoy playing music, singing, and listening to music. I even enjoy learning trivia about different songs and artists.
Employment or Career
I've been employed for the last 20 years for a company that manufactures and distributes laundry and janitorial products. I do purchasing, inventory control, and I've even blended some of the products a couple of times.
Music I Like
Almost everything except rap. Strong favorites would be progressive rock, jazz, classical, contemporary christian, and R&B. Country, 50's rock, and Frank Sinatra type stuff would be near the bottom of the list. All time favorite bands would include Gentle Giant, Genesis, Jethro Tull and Yes. My favorite contemporary band is Switchfoot.
Books I Like
Never been much of a reader outside of the Bible, but I did enjoy reading the Chronicles of Narnia a few years ago.
Television I like
N.C.I.S. and Leverage currently. I've enjoyed My Name Is Earl. Used to faithfully watch Picket Fences and Quantum Leap when they were on.
Movies I like
All time favorite: The Princess Bride - Some other favorites: It's A Wonderful Life, Minority Report, Cellular, Changing Lanes, Back To The Future.
Sports Teams I like
I'm still a New Yorker at heart when it comes to sports: Mets, Giants, Knicks, Islanders.

I couldn't call later that afternoon because last night was Chinese New Year's eve and we were having a big celebration at my house. Hsuan-hui was so excited about it, and it is such a huge deal in Asia, that we were working hard at making it special. I cooked a bunch of stuff that was traditional, but that I had never had, mostly had never seen and definitely had never cooked, being prompted by a 16 year old that knew snippets about what should be in the meal, but had no idea as to how to do it (being unable to cook more than water and tea), and a couple of poorly translated cookbooks from Taiwan. It all turned out great, but it occupied all of my attention from the time I got home at about 3pm until everyone left at 1130. I'll try to call you tonight if I can get free. I have to put away all the chinese dishes and pots, which should take a bit of time... We kind of went all out.
Gong-shi! Gong-shi!
It means "congratulations" or "we made it" and is said on and after Chinese New Years Day, which is today. The celebration lasts for 15 days.
