We Remember.....a slideshow by John R. from John R on Vimeo.

In my experience, many of our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep were never given the honor and recognition they deserved. For reasons I won't go into here, I did not allow my grieving process to happen for some of my departed friends. This is my attempt at bringing such honor to our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep. Here are some of them whose pictures I have. May they be recognized and respected for the good they have done. This was difficult to make and and I shed many tears thinking of some of these wonderful people. I am aware it is sad and am sorry that it may affect you so. But I feel better knowing they have been given a chance to be acknowledged. I am sure their families would agree. This is a work in progress as I get more pictures. Send some if you have them.

  • Absolutely Pat.
  • Thank you so much. As I watched this, my heart and mind marveled at the amount of God's Word these people passed along to others. There are rewards to come for every word that was spoken in truth. God set His Word above all His name. Keep on speaking God's Word! Better days are coming. Nancy (Rager) Friscia, 12th Corps.
  • John, I know just how you feel. I knew some of these wonderful brothers and sisters very well, some a little, and others not at all. My heart breaks for the loss of all of them. They enriched our lives in the time that they were with us. There is a time for all things, as Ecclesiastes tells us; and sadly we know a time to mourn. But it would be too much to bear if there were not also one thing for all times -- the hope.
  • Pat....that says it all I believe. Still....I cant help but sorrow some. Thanks for posting those famous words here. Very appropriate and very comforting. Crae and David I will quote part of the email I sent you here to explain some of the pictures I had:

"Crae....since I was in the 7th, and Hope was in the 6th, we have perhaps a disproportionate number of pictures of those who were in those two groups. But there were many other good folks. For example, I just received pictures of some of our 11th Corps brethren who have fallen asleep from Dan Van Allen's awesome photo collection. This includes Chuck & Margie Noble who both died too young. I will begin adding others as I get them."
  • Beautiful tribute John. So thankful for the return of Christ.
  • John, thank you for putting this together. There were (and still are!) so many wonderful people who have crossed our paths. This tribute to those whose lives and memories will live in our hearts is a reminder of the love we had (have) for God and of each other. I am glad you allowed us to remember, to grieve, and to rejoice with you.
  • “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him... and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, KJV.
What a day that will be when we are together again! Until then, I too will remember with love and thankfulness. Thank you for putting this tribute together, John.
  • It's a wonderful tribute to such wonderful men and women!
  • Terri, I do not have any pictures of Mrs Allen. I am not sure of what staff members to acknowledge in context of this Way Corps Alumni Memoriam. Rhoda Wierwille also comes to mind. Also Dorothy Owens. There were so many who were part of our Way Corps experience in so many ways. I'll keep working on it in time. For now, these were the pictures Hope and I had.
  • Thank you so much, I did notice that Mrs. Allen is not in there, though.
