Let me know when you are ready...and I'll keep my eyes open for one for you.
Entered the Navy, November 1974. Spent 3 1/2 yrs. in Pt. Mugu, CA.
Was witnessed to by Military WOWS in 1977 and took PFAL in May/June that year....the rest is history.
John's last name was spelled Hendricks. You knew he was awaiting the return right?
Dick you have a good sense of perception when it comes to ferreting out all the biased/bigoted news coming out of the sources you mentioned. Some good comes out of them....I tried to get a little bit from each.
I appreciate all your posts...keep it up brother.
Stay in touch.
Maybe Garry will sign in someday.
Love and blessings!
George
You have a beautiful family.
fyi....I appreciate you participation in some of the blogs lately.
Do you remember Garry Merrill? was in 10th Corps. We speak occasionally by phone. Have sent him invitations to this site..but so far no action.
Hope to meet you some day.
Love and blessings!
George
I would have to do some research about home prices to answer your question. It's been a long time (about 9.5 years) since we did our house hunting here, and at that time we put all of one day into finding this house. Our home has about 1650 square feet, along with an unfinished basement. What was particularly attractive to us was the 2.3 acres which came with the house. So we paid about $120,000 for it, and it has been a blessing for us. Right now, the housing prices are all down, as you know, so the market is buyer's market.
Statesville is not a small town, but it sort of has that feel to it. Being about 45 minutes north of Charlotte, it is feeling the gradual effects of "urban sprawl" from the big city. There are so many farms in the Statesville area (in Iredell County) that there seems to be resistance here to Charlotte's lifestyle coming into this area. I commute to Huntersville every day, a growing town just north of Charlotte. Huntersville was about 4,000 people in the year 1993, and today it is over 40,000. There have been growing pains, and the roads are especially in the taxed-to-the-max category. Traffic can be gridlocked from time to time.
At any rate, if you are interested in more information, maybe we could take a look at what is available in this area.
Please give Sue our best.
Love in Christ,
John
God bless you! I did not realize that you were in Maine. There have been a number of saints from Maine who have come to the Virginia Family Camp over the years --- the Titcombs, Trefethens, Freemans, and others. NC is not all that hot temperature-wise, but after Maine it might seem pretty warm. A lot of people retire here. The population of the state is growing pretty steadily.
Please say hello to Sue and your family for us. If you need to stop by some time when you are checking out the state, please let us know so we can have you over.
Love in Christ,
John
