Stanley Reahard commented on Lonnell Johnson's blog post “The Rapture or the Return of Jesus Christ: Articulating My Position"
"I love that poem, Lonnell. Haven't kept up on this blog but it looks as though it got a bit heated. Too bad. I for one, have no idea when the Lord is coming back but I sure am glad it's nearer every day and I plan to be waiting with baited breath!…"

"What a walk down memory lane. We were all so young...and so convinced of everything that man taught us. The good news is so many of us are still involved in various avenues of ministry! Thanks, John for reproducing this for all of us to enjoy."

  • Stanley-replied back and then later realized I put it on my site. Having a great time reconnecting with people, what an awesome bond we have with many even after all these years. Good times, good friends! Saw Davis Crowell in Chicago over Thanksgiving, that was fun. Will E-Mail more-Love Michele
  • Thanks, Stanley. My mom is 79 today and still teaches 3 water aerobics classes a week and is a key member of numerous study groups and bridge games. No slow going for her. She's amazing. I will certainly give her your greetings. I remember your brothers well and your mom's book, Wisdom from Anabel, was it? Have a great time with your family, and hope to cross paths again some time.
  • So how is your travels going. Call us if you come through holy Toledo.
  • Stanley:
I'm so sorry--after I posted that note I knew I should have given more information. My mother was Bess Finch and she decided to take the class while I was in the College Division at Emporia, where both you and Bo taught me classes if I remember correctly. She returned home from visiting at Emporia and took the class with you and attended your fellowship until you left Atlanta. After that, she never connected with anyone else and drifted away from it. I visited your home there as well when I came to see my mom. Now that I think about it, my name then was LewEllyn Finch. I went on Staff in 1985 after the College Division and worked as a writer for Way Publications and Way Magazine until 1995 when I moved on to other states, other jobs. Indeed there was a 30th Corps and there are still Way Corps training at Gunnison but very small groups--some years under 20 people. In my Corps, which graduated in 2001, there were closer to 50. My husband had gone through the 15th corps but we decided to go back in together. Afterwards, we served as ministers here in New Hampshire and kind of phased out around 2005-06 (I've just realized it was that recently!). I can certainly understand why you wouldn't remember me. Your presence was prominent in the ministry at that time but our connection was fleeting. I knew Alison briefly as well and her writing. Glad to hear she's made a career of it. Thanks for responding.
  • Hi, Stanley. Blast from the past. I was just in Atlanta last week visiting my mom. Remember when she was in your fellowship? She's healthy and going strong, teaching three water aerobics classes a week. We're living in New Hampshire now, home to two of your favorite writers, jodi Picoult (who I know) and Janet Evanovich (at least she used to live here). I worked as Program Director for NH Writers' Project so I met a lot of wonderful writers. I'm still writing myself, while working fulltime as an executive assistant. My girls are 15 and 18. Love to Bo.
  • Sure laughed, and still laugh, at Mark's "Apple Cider Story". He is a hoot. He still has that dry sence of humor. Love to see both of you. Love you so, Sheryl
  • Hey Stanley,
Irving is between Dallas and Ft. Worth. I am about 10 minutes from DFW airport. You have probabily been "rock chuckin'" near a bunch of times.
  • Agree, lousey pic of me but when I get on here I've been too tired to mess with making it better. My plate is full right now. Enjoy the Florida weather. I was hoping for 2 feet of snow here but it just keeps passing me by!
  • Yes, I remember the green hair. How couldn't I. I remember so much about you two. Bo, do you remember being stuck in the EOB for a day during the 1979 storm? We were stuck in the Wierwille house because Mark played basketball with JP and we stayed in the house that night. I remember waking up to nurse Olivia (who was just born Dec.23rd, a month earlier) and looked out the window and saw our car snow blown up to beyond the windows. I said we should go home but NO, we stayed for thee days until we could get home. Ha. What a hoot. Glad to be here in Urbana, doing fine. Love you so much, Sheryl
  • Hi Stanley,
Our kids each had their "dark night of the soul",too. I will pray and believe with you. Like you said, He rescued us!

I would love to hear more of you adventures. Steve and I consider moving back in to an RV. We had a great time during our three years living in the RV. As you know, there are proses and conn. But being mobil to follow what you hear from God- that is exciting! I'd love to hear where that has taken you, so far.
    I love you both dearly,
    Elizabeth
