On My Journey--A Celebration in Poetry

Hello. I am Lonnell Johnson. For those of you who do not know me, I was a member of the 2nd Way Corps. For me August has become a month of special celebrations. August 31 is our wedding anniversary, and this year marks the 36th year that Brenda and I have been married. August 11 also marks the 35th anniversary of my ordination to the Christian ministry. In celebration of my ordination, I have compiled a document containing a sampling of some of my poetry interlaced with some pictures of me and my family through the years. I trust you will enjoy this special compilation, as you join me “On My Journey,” as we celebrate God’s grace and favor over the past thirty-five years. The document is called On My Journey.I would like for all of you to have a copy of this document. Click here to view and/or download a copy to your own computer. You may also leave comments below or email me privately at ljohns10@insight.rr.comGod bless you all on your own journey. Thank you for celebrating mine with me.Lonnell

  • Lonnell--I just love it when you call me "Sweetness!" I read every word and was touched on many levels. Someday you must tell me of the couple from Cape Town and your trip to Africa--that really struck a cord with me. How did we get so old? Bo and I celebrate our 35th anniversary this August...The gifts and calling of God are without repentance, dear brother...our lives can certainly testify to that. Love to Brenda and the girls. Thanks for sending this to us. God is good.
  • I, too, am rejoicing with you, Lonnell. I wish this world had more good great men like you in it and and we would all be that much better off because of it. You are living a more than abundant life. Thanks for showing to many of us what is attainable. Congratulations to you!
  • What a beautiful tribute to God and His hand on your life. Thanks for sharing this moment with us. May the grace of God continue upon us so that in 5 years when we celebrate our 40th we can truly say that we have endure the years of trial to victory...With much love, Duke
  • How beautiful, Lonnell. I loved reading the prophecies -- it's wonderful that you have them collected here. I look forward to reading through the entire volume more carefully again, and I especially enjoyed the photos of you and your beautiful family and remembering many years ago seeing you and Brenda face-to-face. Congratulations on this month of celebration, and thank you for sharing it with us.
