About Me

I live and work in the city, but my heart is still with the farm as that is where I grew up with the five brothers and three sisters. I live three hours from the family farm and the brother's farms, but go back to visit regularly. I especially love visiting in the fall at harvest. I usually ride a few rounds in the combine or one of the big tractors and help however I am needed. Of course everyone has animals, so it is always fun to see the herd of cats, dogs, peacocks, exotic cattle breeds, horses and whatever wildlife someone has found injured and is trying to rehabilitate.

My Interests

My dogs and cats, the loves of my life; animals of most kinds; learning new things, reading, visiting new places when I vacation with my youngest sister; going off the tourist path, meeting the locals, feeling the flavors of the area; roaming about and not getting lost too often. I am very involved in animal rescue. I volunteer for transport of homeless animals from within Minnesota and neighboring states. I am usually fostering a dog, helping with fund raising or whatever else I can do to keep wonderful animals from being euthanized.

Employment or Career

Scientist / Engineer for pharmaceutical, medical device and combination therapies company. I am in a business unit that does a lot of R&D for new products so that is very fun and exciting. Always learning and studying to keep up with changing technologies and the current philisophy of the FDA.

Music I Like

Musicals (Les Miserables, Dream Girls, Evita, Church Basement Ladies - a homegrown Minnesota musical - others that don't come to mind at the moment). Blue grass, folk, some blues, Celtic, Enya, Loreena McKinnit.

Books I Like

Books about other cultures (which to me includes religions), places, animals, science, history, biographies of people that inspire me.

Television I like

Crime solving shows, FBI profilers, forensic evidence, the Law and Orders, Cold Case.

Movies I like

Independent and foreign films, crime solving suspense thrillers, historical.

Sports Teams I like

I don't watch professional sports of any kind, but am a big fan of my nephew's and niece's school teams.

I remember you too! Thanks for the note. Great to see your picture and to hear that you are doing well. I love musicals too. Les Mis is my very favorite and Evita is my second favorite. I also love my cat Timber. I don't know if you have ever been around the Siberian breed, but they are the coolest, and I am partial.

Hello Mary,

Oh yeah, Gadsden/Anniston area. I get out that way on occasion. Chehaw state park is near there. The Anniston Army Depot is closed now. My oldest nephew had a ball game there a few years ago. We could drive anywhere on the 'base' we wanted. There were some cool old buildings and military planes on the property. Also, some of the neatest old houses that the officers used to live in.

I never knew about anyone getting hit by a car here! I hope the recovery was not too bad for you. Yes, John and Mary were awesome!

I see your pic of the little brothers, LOL! Yeah right they look like defensive linemen hehe.

When I was in Minnesota Duke Clark was the limb leader and I believe the limb was in Excelsior. When you were in Alabama, I worked the book store at branch and limb meetings. Where in AL were you a wow?

If you like trains there is an awesome dinner train that goes through the Royal Gorge. My husband and I have taken it a couple of times, once just as a dinner and once on a "mystery" train where they stage a crime and you have to try to solve it. A lot of fun.
