"Actually I think the author I was thinking of was Elizabeth Gouge, it may be spelled differently or include a 'd' but something like that. I think her books are long out of print. Thanks anyway."

"Hi Debra,

Did you move to NH after graduation in '86? I don't remember whether I new that. Where did you go if that was the case. Reason I'm asking after all this time, is I saw your pic on the boat in NH. I was in Keene my first WOW year in 79-80…"

  • Hey Marsha,
I was reviewing my page and found your question about the authors I like. You asked me about Elizabeth George. She writes the Inspector Lindley Mysteries. I wonder if the authoress you were thinking of was Elizabeth Gaskell? She wrote Wives and Daughters, and several epic sized books, very well written. She is an english novelist who wrote during the industrial revolution and was a ministers wife who wanted to improve conditions for mill workers. I am rereading Wives and Daughters right now and I am in awe of her craftsmanship.
I got a Kindle and most of her books are free or 99 cents through it. If you are a reader, the electronic books, mostly classics are free or low cost. I love mine. Have a great day, the birds are singing outside my window so the day is full of promise.
  • FYI,
The CFF pictures are on the 14th Corps page now.

  • Dear Marsha, would you please forward the following to my dear Sallyn?

My dear Sallyn -- how AWESOME to hear from you!! How is life? How are you and your family? Do you ever get back to RI?

I have four children now as God has been holy and gracious to us... would love to keep in touch! Take care!
    I love you!
    David
  • Hi Marsha,
It was nice to hear from you. I loved reading about your family and life. Our God sure does bless His kids!!! Ken and I are going to make an updated page with more info about us and our lives when time allows. It'll be great to catch everyone up on The Fondas.
    Bye for now,
    Love & Blessings,
    Tricia
  • Hi Marsha,

It has been a while. I was looking for Charlie and Margie Nobel and I posted that on Greasespot. You very kindly wrote to me to let me know about them and their little family. I occasionally wrote to their daughter Michelle, until a computer crash lost her address for me. So it has been a while.

I think I like this site better than Greasespot, easier to keep up with. I figure I will probably visit daily for a while, until the activity slows.

Elizabeth George writes the Inspector Lindley Mysteries. She has written some other books, but primarily ILM.

I am impressed that you are writing, a much more difficult occupation than most people know. Mark has a customer who is a published author (Allen Eckert of The Frontiersman) and he is constantly at his craft.

What a blessing you daughters must be to your fellowship! I think our kids are just about the same age, Joanna turns 20 May 1, and John-Mark turns 17 Feb, 13 (though we celebrate on the 12th, Lincolns Birthday and the day he should have been born, long story)

Speaking of singing, did your daughter check to see if the college she is attending has a scholarship for members of the choir? We did and Joanna got a substansial 4 year renewable just for doing what she loves, singing. We were surprised to find that out at orientation.

Like you, I have a very busy schedule. The job I have is very special and I love doing it, but it takes a lot of energy. Recently, I wrote a grant to double my time I am paid to do it and while the $$ are nice, it takes up quite a lot of my time. I serve all 5 school districts in our county and the MR-DD also. When parents (or staff) need information, training or support for a child with disabilities educational concerns, they can call me. I go to meetings with parents and at times act as a mediator. I give the parent perspective to the school and at the same time tell the parents where the school is coming from on an issue. I use all of my Corps training and I get at least 40 hours of training each year. I am trained at conflict resolution and in special education law. All to help children reach their best potential.

I am sorry to hear of you husband's health issue, Is he feeling better? I will keep you folks in my thoughts and prayers,

    Love,
    Jacqueline
  • ps: we were all in Nashua, NH for a while in the late '80's
  • Xristin's maiden name was Brenna but her married name on this site is Maestri.
    have a good night!
  • I was assigned to NH after we graduated and spent 3 years there. David and Judy Snyder are both on this site now. Judy took the photo of us all on the boat...it was a dineer dance I think for a birthday...very nice!!
    How are you doing?
  • Bless you Marsha,
Love your pictures, your daughters are lovely.
    How have you been?
    Love,
    Jacqueline
  • God bless your heart, Marsha.

Give our love to your family and the believers.

Your WoW sister Joanne, who did she marry and where do they live? I'll drop her a note, too!

You are wonderful sister, a virtuous woman.

Love from above, in Christ, your brother,

    Charles
