About Me
Jim and I moved back from Los Angeles to Savannah (our home town)about 15 years ago. All of our family is here. Jim's mom lives in front of us. My parents live 3 doors over. Jim's dad lives on our farm in SC. All of our siblings live close by. Savannah is a wonderful place to raise a family. It is located on the coast and we live on the Wilmington River that feeds right into the Sound. Every morning I wake up to a beautiful view of the marsh and river. I feel like I am on vacation. Of course then the challenges of the day begin. And oh they are usually challenging and very exciting raising 4 children.
Jim and I live life in the fast lane. I am actually somewhat uncomfortable when we slow down. We both meet so many people and are involved with business deals, children activities, old friends, new friends, family matters and just great opportunities to speak of God's goodness to people. I never want to miss a beat.
My Interests
I love to hunt, fish, entertain at our house and watch my boys play tennis.
Jim and I have bought property over the years over in SC low country. It is actually about 1/2 hour from our house. All the properties together add up to about 1000 acres. So needless to say, there is plenty of room to hunt. We love to hunt deer, turkey, quail, dove and pheasant(when it is brought in). We don't have a lot of ducks, but hope to add these ponds as time permits. We hunt with Jim's Dad. He is an avid dog hunter(that is where the beagles run the deer). We also have built tree stands and do a lot of still hunting. We have an abundance of deer on the property these days.
Fishing is another favorite past time of our lives. Living on the water has made this easy for the family. Our rivers are teaming with fish, crabs and shrimp. Summers are filled with boating adventures and late nights out on the dock. We live near islands only accessed by boats that Savannahians flock to with coolers of food and drink to spend the day with their families. Jim and I also like to deep sea fish. We recently went to Mexico and caught some nice sailfish.
Entertaining family and friends is such a blessing to my life. Our family lives for these days and nights. Cooking crabs and shrimp on the dock is our favorite. What great nights we have sittting around drinking a beer and watching the sun go down over the river. The kids love to jump off the dock , ride the jet ski and to water ski. The boys have wheels these days, driving the 15 ft whaler and picking up their friends. Louisa (12) has recently gotten her boaters license and drives the 13 ft. whaler to the Yacht Club to see all her girl friends. Thank God Kate is only 9!
Tennis has become my alltime favorite sport to watch. I do not play, but our twins do. They love it so much that they are now homeschooled with tutors coming in each day. We are also blessed with a wonderful tennis coach that lives with us in our guest house. Ivor is from South Africa, he is a passionate Christian and has become part of our family. The boys, Ivor and I travel at least two weekends a month playing tournaments. They are getting pretty good!
