"Attached to the article is a mugshot released by the Washington State Patrol, I believe from his Washington driver's license, so that would be pretty recent."

"The whole truth" is a bit hard to define, but I take the accuracy of my book seriously, and if you know of any actual errors that should be corrected, I would gladly do so.
Best of luck to you,

  • Hey Karl,
So this is where you have been hanging out huh? I just got here today. Good to see you in the new neighborhood, looks kinder and gentler. Love PS
  • Hey Karl, good to hear from you. I still love my job. Hey, if you ever come through Houston, I would love to go to lunch or something.
    Mike
  • Hi Karl, when I started reading your email, I thought something is different about his name...okay, you changed it, that's interesting.
Great to hear from you. We are living in Savannah with 4 children, Madison and James (almost 15-identical twin boys), Louisa Lake (12) and Kate(9). Jim is practicing Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, runs 6 sleep labs and has recently started a Hospitalist program in the area hospitals. I do physician recruitment for both the Pulmonary practice and the Hospitalist program. I also own a durable medical company. We are having so much fun here. Both of our families are all here. We are avid hunters and own property across the river in SC. The rest of my life is spent traveling with the boys for tennis. We have not played in CA yet, but sure that will happen in the next few years. Love to you,
    Lake
  • Ahhh, Principal's kid... That might do it! Kodiak is one of the places I get to go for work a couple of times a year. I really like it there, but walking arund the airport to get to the FedEx station makes me nervous, since it is alongside the creek and the Bears are always fishing there. I am never sure if they prefer seafood to the fatted calf, so I am rather nervous. Really, I am rather petrified of bears and it hinders me a bit with hiking through the woods. Unless we carry big guns, which may not be much help unless the safety is off and the gun is in your hand--but it makes one feel better, anyway. Stiill, I like Kodiak and have some nice friends there now.
  • INteresting comment about Anchorage being unfriendly! That truly is the first time I have ever heard that! Infact, that was one of the biggest reasons I moved here--because everyone was so neighborly. I had been coming to work up for years and finally decided I wanted to live here, too. Was your family in the military, or involved in someplace where no one wanted them to be (ie moving into a village)? Sometimes that might have caused resentment, because of having money that the locals did not, or people feeling like they are a part of an experiment. Very interesting...
Come on back, there are LOTS of very friendly people here at this time! Paul
  • Karl, It's great to be seen and see you again as well. This is a really wonderful way for all of us to reconnect again with each other. Others have mentioned that it's akin to what the return will be like. I think it's absolutely terrific to be able to communicate with old friends this way! The biggest difference from the return is no hugs.

  • Hi Karl, You disappeared off my comment wall for some reason or other, but I wanted to say hi. It is good to hear from you. Funny yo are in Los Gatos and all theose years I was in Oakland we never ran into one another.

  • News item:

Rep. Tom Lantos, questioning Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang and his general counsel about why their company gave the Chinese government information that led to the 10-year imprisonment of a Chinese dissident, said, “While technologically and financially you are giants, morally you are pygmies.”

My question: How is this fair to pygmies?
  • Karl...or Carl to me....please don't say that you have forgetten me, fellow USC Trojan! I was at your wedding (the first one, at least....were there others...?) and have the photos to prove it. Now that I think of it, I was present when you proposed, you romantic soul, you. How the heck are ya?
  • Si, como no! Next time I'm that way, I will let you know and we can connect.

Do you know that the first memory I have of you is you working on Bless Patrol at the Corps Chalet and you introducing yourself to me. Then I joined the WC and you ended up being my elder corps. Glad to know you. You were fun. (and something tells me you still are)
