That was over five years ago. She…"

  • Hebrews 11:1ff. You, too, Janis, share in the victory of God in this dark world when you pray and stand for Him. Perhaps, while you were praying around the time of our plight from Communist China, your intercession saved my son from the deadly dart thrown at him from the roof of the Hangzhou Railway Station. Your prayers may have even blinded the eyes of the guards who had previously followed us when we purchased our train tickets to Shanghai. God knows what needs to be prayed for and, Sweety, you, I and all the saints are smack in the middle of it all because we belong to Christ and He is God's Only Begotten Son. So lets keep praying, doing, whatever God calls us to do and lets do it with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength!! LOTS OF KISSESS & HUGS, Mark/ Marcus (-;
  • Oh yes, God also helped us with an electrical blackout which occurred just before the time we had to use the lift to get out of our dorm (we lived in a closely guarded college compound). Also, the guard at the bottom of the lift was always at their station facing the elevator door yet, at the right time on that day, they were not there!!! Black cars also tried to stop Cathy and Caleb in the college car park--I had gone ahead about 20 yards to get a taxi. And when the taxi pulled up the guard's phone at the college entrance kept ringing but the guard ignored the call!!! Yes, I can still see the faces and surprised looks on the sweet believers in Hangzhou and I always consider how much we really take for granted in countries like the USA and Australia. I also saw God work BIG during my time in the Royal Australian Navy when I tried to do what Rev Wilkinson (??) in 'The Cross & The Switchblade' did with street teens and other desperate people. Yes, God does work with all types of people--before, during and AFTER The Way. He is not a respecter of any group affiliation but of the thoughts and actions of hearts made meek to Him. Yes, I am still learning these simple glorious truths. Glad you also enjoyed 'Brother Andrew'--such stories are still happening today... XXXOOO
  • Hi Janis and God's best to you always!!! I too had read 'Brother Andrew' (and 'The Cross & The Switchblade') which motivated me to do what I did before, during and after The Way. Somehow, I get a spiritual and physical adrenaline rush from such activities as you see God always work BIG in dangerous circumstances--esp when the darkness is so smothering. Examples inclue: everyone else having their bags checked thoroughly at the Shanghai Airport yet ours immediately waved through; a huge light fitting falling down from the high ceiling of the Hangzhou railway station and just miss my son's head when we were fleeing the area; a railway porter taking us the backway to the train that avoided security checkpoints; police with notebooks in their hands going from door to door on the train looking at people's faces yet oblivious to our escape (God provided a European tour group to sit right where we were--and the train was packed with Chinese!!); and precisely at the time when a businessman sitting next to me opened a curtain to see out a police officer looked through the window at me but couldn't see Cathy and Caleb as thier curtain was still covering their side of the window. Of note, the church that we delivered the Bullinger materials and Bibles to (which just happened to be right next to the Chinese college where we taught English) was closed down the day after we delivered the materials so we've prayed for these folk ever since. We were shown cameras that were inside the church which were monitored by a special police unit and there are other edge-of-the seat events God greatly protected us with in His deliverance of our souls from prison.
  • Hey Janis how are you?? I'm a little slow with all this technology but I decided to sit tonight and respond to everyone I have connected with on this site. It was great to see your picture and know you're still out there. I remember one incident so distinctly. Do you remember flipping hamburgs with Dr. Wierwille at Gunnison?? I was so jealous that you had the nerve to just walk over there and jump in and spend that precious time with him. I was way too intimidated to do it and I have never forgotten it. What do we have to lose? Just go for it! Wow. You were awesome.
  • Janis:

    Yes, but not well. Supposedly they were to move to Palmer this summer but I guess that did not happen.

    In His love,
