How are you guys doing?
You just made my day! "Joy like a fountain - in my soul"
I was at Montana State University and a twig coordinator in my home and I decided that I would expand the outreach to the college where I was attending as a geograpy student. Dave Bailey was an older student much like myself and hung out in the student union. He was looking for a revolution or so he told me. One day in the student union while we were talking. I looked at him and told him I was looking for revolutionaries that would not back down from what they believed - and that this revolution was prophesied about in ancient manuscripts. We met almost daily in the student union between classes. He also told me he was looking for a wife.
Then there was this young outdoorsmen - a babe magnet - his name was Vince. Vince met me outside of one of my classes - and he asked a simple question. "I hear you have a class about the bible - called Power For Abandant Living that you are running."
I said yes I am going to be running the class soon. He said "I want to sign up and I have a friend that wants to take it with me. Where can I sign up?" Then I invited him and his "friend" to the public ex and there was Dave - Vince's friend. They both signed the card the same day along with several others.
Vince later went WOW after he graduated from MSU.
Dave Matt and Vince - indivisable - I was in ROTC and got assigned into a MP unit - as a cadet - there in my platoon - was SGT Bailey - without his ear rings! So - we served together in uniform as well - he was an excellent soldier. I saw his leadership ability in uniform - how he handled soldiers and tasks. So in the months that followed I encouraged him to go Corp. I told him that the Corp - was where he belonged - I knew it in my heart.
I also felt and told him that he would find his wife there - and I knew it and I told him so.
I knew him for several years - he was so close - my assistant TC and my best friend in so many ways.
I saw him last when he stopped and visited on his bus - going into residence.
I will tell you a little story - We had worked hard and had put together a large PFAL class and it was Dave and Vince's first class. 5 days before the class was to start and two days before the orientation at my apartment I got a call from the Limb - my limb coordinator was dismissed - I asked "What am I going to do about the nine college students - my friends that are scheduled for this class?" I was told "I don't know". I said "Where are the class materials?" I was told "The ministry has folded."
The same afternoon I got a call - from another twig coordinator in Billings - "My name is Lou Guigou - can I pray for you?"
He said take some time to think about it and he called me again the next day and asked the same question.
I said "Sure. Can you get me the class materials?"
He said "Yes".
Everyone showed up to my orientation - they were excited.
I went over briefly with them some of the events and the confusion surrounding those events.
I sat them down and asked them "How many of you want to take this class?". Then I went individually and looked each in the eye and asked "Do you want this class?" There was not a dry eye in that place. Everyone said "Yes".
Then I looked up and walked to the phone and called Lou Guigou and said "Bring us the materials."
Lou brought them the very next day from Billings.
Lou and I walked behind my apartment - We both completely choked up - two very tough guys at that time - tears in our eyes.
I love that man forever.
What your very short email did was confirm my heart and thanks.
If you can let Dave know for me, Tell Him - "Matt is so happy and proud of him and may God always always bless Him."

I noticed the picture of Lead and young man there named Dave Bailey. I witnessed to him at Montana State - he was in my twig for a couple years - and I would love to know if he is well and how he is doing.
Thanks
