About Me
We're old but not grown up yet-well at least Gary isn't yet. We've lived in Missoula for over 9 years, almost as long as we were in Portland Or.! Since "move" is a four letter word to us, we're thinkin' we'll hang here a while. We live just west of town on 1 and 2/3 acres in a beautiful setting-a great place to come home from work. We became empty-nesters when our youngest, Jennifer(20) moved out at her Junior year at the U of M. We also became "in-laws when our Air force Staff Sargent son, Jesse(23) married an Air force girl he met when he was deployed in Qatar. They are finally stationed together in Omaha. We work full time, work on the property and still do a lot with the kids--cell phones and the Internet are great aren't they?
My Interests
Gary is into NFL, fishing riding his Harley and being a proud father. Don't even get him started!
I still love to learn-especially in my specialities with hair design and my biggest love- herb growing and spreading. I'm not an herbalist but an herb enthusiast, meaning, I don't diagnose or treat with herbs, but I grow them and show people how to use them in their everyday lifestyles. I'm working on a dream of having an acre U-Pick Herb Park on the grounds where people can come during the growing season, and I will continue to feature my freshly dried organically home grown herbs in innovative gift crafts during the holiday season. I'm presently growing over 100 traditionally medicinal tea herbs and about 40 culinary herbs-still learning and growing!
Employment or Career
Gary's back in glass! After 2 back surgeries and a few career paths (sales in insurance and retail, service managing in glass and office equipment repair) he's doing what he knows well, likes and doing it right.
I'm still doing hair-can you believe it? I've been working for 9 years in a great salon downtown that has won "The best of Missoula" for 6 years running. I specialize as a personal style analysis and hair color technique and correction.
Music I Like
Gary says there's only 2 good kinds of music- country and western, but he likes to dance to R & B when you can get him to.
I like all kinds of music with a driving dance beat from funk rock and roll to hip hop.
Books I Like
We both like the books by John Eldridge and have passed them around, I still like to buy anything to with herb growing and use for the planning season. Gary enjoys Patrick Mcmanis for entertainment, while I read Historical (or as Gary calls them-Historical) Romance books.
Television I like
Gary likes news and sports, I like the CSI's and the history channel, but I gotta get the weather report every day-even in the cold months.
