"Dear Marilyn,
I will always be thankful for the day you came up to me in a Swenson's Ice Cream parlor in Palo Alto, CA. Because of that day, many people are alive today. OK, I guess some wish they were dead, but what can I do about that?

I love…"

Of course I remember you! How are you brother? Is that lovely woman by your side your wife? If so how long have you been married?"

  • Garland, Happy Birthday!!!! Amazing what we went through to get this old. Glad to see you're still around. Now, if only we could retire. Maybe in a dozen more birthdays.
  • Garland, By the way I like what you wrote to me! I think that's great that wonderful things are happening for you! All things are for our sakes! I'm glad you walk out and believe it! Keep it up! Donna
  • Happy birthday Garland.

  • Garland, may I be the first to wish you a special day! We 10th corps have to stick together! HA! Happy birthday to you and God's best!!! Donna
  • Garland,
Wow, you remember a lot! I only remember the merce and gracey part. I can't imagine I was ever that wise. Most people don't know the power of merce and gracey. I take no credit for speaking to you in Swensen's. I was on an ice-cream high. Besides, you were already God's son and were destined to spend your life with Him. And anyway, you were obviously blind, thinking I was hot. You were always so much fun. It was like a piece of sunlight came in when you did. Thanks for writing all that stuff.
P.S. My laughing attacks have really gotten worse. I have to stumble out of many public places, but sure do enjoy them.
  • Hi Garland,
Thanks for your friendly note. I reckon this site is a bonus and I'm extremely glad that John has set it up and lets me help him with it a little. He's a good bloke, hey?
I can remember your name, but I'm not really sure why. I did know Mark Hill - 11th Corps - because he was the country coordinator here in Australia when I was on my apprentice year.
By the way, I just noticed that you have written a brilliant message to Marilyn, which I am sure will be a sweet treat for her to see... but I think you may have accidentally sent it to yourself. It'll be simple to copy and paste it to her page, so that's good.
Have a good day. It is really hot here in Brisbane today. I have the ceiling fan on at top speed and I'm trying not to move too much - funny.
    Love, Sarah
  • Marilyn,
It is truly amazing the effect that we can have and have had on people's lives. You shared with me things that I use in my everyday life and ministry. Here's one: "You should still stand on God's word even if Dr. Wierwille doesn't stand." Here's another regarding this girl I was about to let move in with me. "Have you invited her to fellowship?" Here's another: "The only reason we are still on this earth is to witness to others." I will never forget the time you were praying and you thanked God for His "Merce and Gracey" (instead of Grace and Mercy) and you fell out of your chair laughing. I was soooo shocked, because I was soooo religious at that time. Your boldness with God's Word and love for God's people (me and those of us in your and Bryce's fellowship) has been a constant reminder through all of these 35 years. You will be rewarded throughout all eternity for what you did for me. I have been and will continue to be grateful all of my life for the help you gave me. The life you saved that evening in that Swenson's Ice Cream parlor in Palo alto - was mine! Thank you!

    Garland
p.s. I also thought you were really "hot" and I was sorry to find out that you were married to the guy (Bryce) who drove the motorcycle you were riding on the back of.
p.s.s. On the other motorcycle riding in behind you and Bryce were Richard Zolezzi and Cathy...
p.s.s.s. I still think you are "hot", but now that I have been happily married for 26 years to Evelyn it doesn't matter.
p.s.s.s.s. I've told the story about how we met and you led me to my hearts desire to learn God's Word and operate manifestations at least 1000 times over these 35 years. Please don't forget the powerful impact of your life then and now...one solitary life...
  • Thanks for your reply. I have to redo my homepage to say the best time I ever had in TWI was in Palo Alto. I have some weird memory problem, probably senility, but I just could not remember how we met! You were the most receptive person to God I've ever met. Have always loved you. Always will. God has kept us going thru a very large and long pot hole recently, and we are just starting to gasp for some much needed air.

P.S. Do you like 24 this season? We have been diehard fans, but are a little nervous about this season. Can't believe you don't have "Lost" on your roster.

P.P.S. I'm trying to bait you to write back.
  • Hi Garland! Just saw your name and got a huge smile on my face. Sounds like you are doing great, as always. Is "Manufacturing Your Dream" your own company? Either way, I could use some of mine manufactured. Don't go on this site much anymore, but it would be great to catch up with you.
  • Hi Garland, I've thought about you over the years. I would love to catch up. My email is ijump49@yahoo.com God Bless!!!!!
