About Me
Still trying to balance my sense of purpose and desire to have integrity with a light touch and a sense of wonder. I manage to get through each day without taking myself too seriously, most of the time.
Husband Paul and I live 60 miles west of Chicago. We fellowship with Word of Truth Ministries, have three grown children and two grandchildren. He is a Dean at a college nearby and I am a counselor at the local hospital in DeKalb. Oldest two kids are from Paul's first marriage (grandkids through them), youngest is from my first marriage to Keith Krasemann (9th corps), who also lives here in Sycamore. Paul and I have been married for 12 years. My son Robert graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia in May of '09. He's job searching now. Hopes to head west eventually - to California.
My Interests
Passion for the Word of God and I am continually thankful for the Way Corps training, colleagues and experiences that have helped me to love and serve God, walk with God and help others.
Love the outdoors and do a lot of hiking, kayaking, bicycling and swimming in the warmer months. Cross country ski in winter. I read a lot, and write in a journal nearly daily - which I've done since 1980... and even have some diaries from elementary school. Have some minor writing published; dream of doing more.
For the past few years, Paul and I have spent nearly every weekend in Lake Geneva Wisconsin, playing and relaxing in our To-Be-Retirement Home (ETA 2012) that is a short drive from our home in Illinois. It's an Empty Nesters' paradise, and a Friends and Family magnet, which is exactly what I'd hoped it would be.
Employment or Career
Started as an English teacher in Rockford, Illinois. Stayed home when my son was young. Then, back to school at Northern Illinois University, where my husband and I both received graduate degrees. I have been a counselor for over 15 years (LMFT, CEAP). In these positions, if someone wants Christian Counseling, I am able to open my Bible, encourage, teach, and pray with them.
Music I Like
Believer Music, classical, jazz, some "oldies" and more.
Books I Like
The Hiding Place - Corrie ten Boom
Delighted in God - re: George Mueller
Classic English Literature
I read the comic section of the local newspaper daily, too.
Television I like
Seinfeld, all the Law and Orders, and the weather channel over the news
Movies I like
Blues Brothers, Men in Black, Shawshank Redeemption, Sound of Music, Lars and the Real Girl, classics from the 40's and 50's, all Hitchcock movies. Campy B rated movies when the mood is light.
Sports Teams I like
Red Sox - as I grew up in the Boston area. Chicago teams because that's what the men in my life watch and if I want to see them during sport seasons, I kind of follow : Cubs, da Bears and the Bulls.

God bless your day,
I remember now! It had to have been in 1978-79 when Rita and I were in Arlington, MA just outside of Boston. It's great to hear from you! What are you up to now?
Love in Christ,
--Paul
Just a quick note to let you know I haven't forgotten you. I'll be in touch soon to give some details on "my little journey" with God over the years.

I enjoy getting to know you again as I read your "Portions of my testimony". You have a beautiful heart and an eloquent way of expressing it. Heart & ability! What a great combination that enables you to bless so many! Thanks for sharing it with us and to all who will have the blessing of reading about your life in the future.
You may be interested to know that the ministry that taught us the Word has come out of the devilish attacks that almost took us down individually as well as collectively, as a body of believers. I'll share with you sometime what I went through and where I am now, if you are interested.
I'm glad to hear you are doing well and are still serving God.
Thanks again for your thoughtfulness. So good to hear from you!
Nate
Yes I believe we were in the first twig together ...Sheila McDonald, Gail Inman...and we both lived in Uncle Harry. We spent a lot of time together because those first three months were designed to run us out of there and I remember going to Twig after Corps Night one night and we were all almost at our wits ends of having every waking hours planned for us and 9th Corps gal ...geez I see her face....Vicki Delnegro? I think that is it... Just smiled at us and said "You know what you all are finally learning? How to really make Jesus Christ Lord in your life. If you are argueing in your mind about a program you signed up for what are you doing when your Lord is calling the shots." It was a humbling moment for me....after that I did it all with a happy heart, or I would remind myself of that pretty quick.
Well, that is what I remember but I am way over 40 and with each passing year things get a bit less detailed...but close enough right?
I too remember your kind and gentle nature, with that side of adventure and love for a good laugh...you are a wonderful mix goodness.
It is great to be able to say that to you too after all these years.

Who could forget you!
Actually, I remember some names and faces but not many. Patty Wolf (I forget her married name) has a list posted on her page of eveyone who graduated the 11th Corps. I went down the list and I couldn't remember a whole lot.
It is good to hear form you again. I don't see Dave Hansen too much anymore but if and when I do I will let him know you said hello.
I will keep in touch and post more photos from back then.
Bless God!

I was sooooo happy to discover you on here! : )
How I found you is that someone sent me a message, I got on to read it and then discovered that Brian Yim and I were the only two people "online" right now. I remembered him, so clicked on his picture.... started reading a few of his recent comments from people and discovered you!!! Isn't this site fun? I've had to restrict myself from being on here very much 'coz I could spend HOURS reading things and then writing to people. Wish I had more "free" time.
I thought of you recently as I was floating on my back in Broad Cove (I knew for the last time this summer!)...... looking at the new house where your parents used to live. I think of you often when I drive by Sturdivant Road (which I drive by at least once a day). I enjoyed reading your profile and am happy to know that you, Paul and your family are all doing wonderfully : )
Do check out the pics of Abigail on my page..... she's now a sophomore at SMWC and I can hardly believe it! Last night she called to say she's been accepted into something she interviewed for last Spring called the "President's Corps", which is a group of 12 girls from the college who learn to do what's needed to assist the president of the college in his various college-related social responsibilities. The girls all wear a burgundy blazer supplied by the college, but of course Abigail was calling to ask if I would help her with the purchase of the dressy black pants and white shirt that's required : ) Also, she's an "RA Alternate" this year (one of two), so is sharing a two bedroom suite with an RA, and will automatically become an RA next year. The alternates are in case a regular RA can't complete her commitment for some reason. Anyway... whenever she assumes that position, it'll save $4000 off her college expense/year : )
Guess I should say "bye" for now..... it would be lovely to hear from you and even better to see you! I look forward to the next time that's available : )
Bunches of love and blessings!
