  • Thanks Nate,

Yes, I did have a glass or two of Guinness on St. Paddy's Day. If you have an interest in his life and impact I will recommend a book called "How the Irish Saved Civilization". Once you are done laughing about the title It is a fascinating read.

I really enjoyed watching my son play football. I think it reminded me why I love the sport so much. At that level, before the money and super ego gets involved, it is at its purist from.

I hope that you and your family are well!

    Vince
  • Hi Nate,

Those are some great pictures of your family too! What postion does your son play i football? I coached youth football for 4 years. I love what it can do for the character of young men (if it's done right).

  • I thought about (and prayed about) telling you about last summer when I had two of my 7th Corps freinds here in Ohio to come to the Christian Family Fellowship Reunion. It's every year during the first weekend in August. I call that group the "love people" because you feel loved and accepted even if you do not see them all year long, only at the Reunion. Aren't Christians supposed to be known by their love?
Anyway whenever people come from afar to visit they usually want to visit Dr Weirwille's gravesite and see what TWI has become. I try to warn them that they will be followed down the street like criminals and it still looks the same so just stick with the memories....but like last August, they want to see. So we drive down Weirwille Road and stop near the gravesite. Of course "Safety" comes out to follow and watch. A young guy with a uniform (Not Bless Patrol speaking in tongues for us!) comes out to interogate my Corps brother who wanted a moment at the gravesite. My Corps sister is waiting in the car with me. After all it is a public county road. After a time Brooks Mason drives out. He happens to be 7th Corps. So my Corps sister gets out and runs over to talk to him. The uniformed guy stands nearby with arms crossed, vigilent ... in case of what exactly???? Brooks is cordial and polite, like all the WI people are lately. During mark and avoid they would turn away and not talk to you. Silly and childish and where is that in the Bible??
By contrast we drive up to the Christian Family Fellowship in Troy and are greeted warmly, hugged, given coffee and The Word....
The church I go to in Sidney (Russell Road Christian) is like that also. Loving, kind, giving, with the Word taught not based on people's experiences... When I first walked in to Russell Road church years ago I saw people who were well dressed and happy and I also saw people whom I had worked with while I was at Children Services to try to get their children back. I am good at what Ii do , but they did not succeed with Children Service's help. Then I saw them in church, healed and loved by God's Word. Where would you attend church Nate??
It will be interesting going to the Way. I am not afraid. I am used to whatever comes my way from there. I have a healthy detachment you might say...
  • Thanks Nate. Perhaps Jeanene will be signing up for the FND Class at fellowship on Wed also! I'm believing Stanley will be there also.
    Bless you,
    Vern
  • Yes, there has been a whole lotta love going on in the Heckel household over the last few days. If you can believe it, I even ventured out on total believing, and put together a dinner for Susie on her birthday: Shrimp with lobster sauce, and fried rice from scratch. It's amazing the recipes you can "google" up.

Hey Nate, I have to say, the communications I have enjoyed from you recently continue to clearly communicate one thing: you are a man with a great big heart. Glad to see it!

  • Hi Nate
Thanks for your kind ccomments and exhorting me to share some of what I know about the early days of Way Prod. through the years of 1968 to 1984
Perhaps you saw on another site some postive thoughts I posted, but I was in their ball park so most of what I shared went in one ear and out the other. All it seems they want to do is yack about how bad this one and that one was treated.Thank God John Richeson does not allow that baloney here on this site.
I will consider of posting the Way Prod.story in the group Way Productions. It might be a good thing to do.
    Bless You Nate
