"Hi Kathy,
Of course I remember you. You worked for Duke at the limb in MInn.
And you typed my Corps "thesis" in the basement of your dorm. I think I still owe you something for that.
How'd you end up in Syracuse. Just wondering. It's good to hear…"
"David, I guess that was 1st year in Weirwille , Right? But I can't remember the others. You'll have to refresh my memory. Where are you in VA. We are about 1 hr east of Richmond.
Great to hear from you.
Keep in touch.
"Hi Hope, Good to hear from you. Sailing was my business for 25 years and is still a great love of my life. But it's a younger man's business so I'm on to something else now. I've spent alot of time in Phili: my older sister and her daughter live…"
"Hi Charlie, Yes that 's me. I grew up in NY and left to go to Norfolk VA 75-76 for my wow year. I came back to VA after the corp, met my wife and have been here since. I was thinking of those years and wondering if you knew what became of Bob Hanna.…"
"Nancy , great to hear form you. I got a good laugh from your comment on the bear story. I don't know how many times I've told that story over the years but it's been a number. I hope you and Chris are doing well. I put a few photos of my family up…"
"Hi Steve, I'm surprised you remembered Advent Sails. I sold the company in 2005( after 23 years) to an employee and retired for a bit. I'm now starting a real estate business and looking forward to the future.
You live in one of my favorite places.…"
Dear Don,
Do you remember me, Elise La Prade (Hubbard) of the 7th WC, I sat next to you in the alphabetical order in clases at times. I have always remembered how you made me laugh so much in class, I had the best time sitting next to you.
It's been a lot of years now, I have been married 15 years and I have a 14 year old son, who also keeps me laughing alot.
I remember the doodleings and sketches you would make in your notes of sailboats and such, they were really good.
Hi Don, nice to see you here and that all is well with you and yours. I was one of them Navy guys the year you was there in Norfolk with Michael and Sally Martin. I think we also spent some time together at Hdqtrs the year I was there with Way Builders. You have a beautiful looking family. God Bless and great touching base with you again.
Hey Don, you are correct, we were together our first year in residence. Can you believe it's been almost 30 years ago. It was you, me, Greg L (he's reistered on here and also lives in VA) and Bob L - haven't seen him here yet. I even remember the room # (117) because by some quirk of fate I was in the same room my final year.
It sure is fun seeing how everyone has progressed throughout the years. Our times together were relitively brief, but seeeing all the interest in John's site has surely reinforced the fact that we developed some very vivid memories and friendships. I live north of you about 2 miles "outside the beltway".

There seem to be a number of us (7th) in the region. Maybe we could all get together someday.Just a thought. Also when I first was out after graduation I worked briefly for a wholesale florist headquartered in Phili. SS Pennock co was the name, you would know if they were still in business.
Tell me what you have done sailing wise. Just interested.
Don: Thanks for remembering me. I was going to ask you the same question about Bob. We I left HQ in '88 he was one of the few that showed any interest in how I was doing. I sure loved you two and all the time we had together. It's good to see you are doing well and have such a great family. Making contact has refreshed many memories that have gotten a little fuzzy over the years. I wonder what Gary Frederick is doing now.
Love, Charlie
Ok, now I wanna hear that story Nancy. Post in LEAD group or here. Sounds like a good one if it involved a bear and LEAD. I should tell about when we killed and ate a deer in our group thanks to the help of Steve A. and a big gun. We weren't supposed to and I think it was out of season, but dang, we were hungry. Ha, ha.
