"I think I saw a statistic which said that like....95% of all hurricane deaths are from drowning.
That freakin storm surge is an incredible force too. Water is so powerful."

  • David, Noel and I met in San Francisco. I stayed there after going WOW in 82-83. We were married in 86 and lived in the Bay area until 91. Both our kids were born in California. We moved here to be near my parents, but also because we believed it to be God's will. And we still do! We've enjoyed living here, and God has increased our home fellowship. He has also prospered Noel's business (he's a painting contractor). I am working part time now as an office manager, trying to help out a little with both kids in college. But mainly I love working the Word and teaching it and praying for God's people. We like to travel. Noel is from the Philippines, so we travel west mostly. We want to make another trip to Europe, and I'd love for Noel to see Africa. But just don't know when...!? Meanwhile, we're blessed doing what we gotta do day by day! Life is good. We moved my mother to Cambridge MD a couple of months ago to live near my oldest brother. I am flying up the end of Feb to celebrate her 92nd birthday with her! It'll be a quick visit because I have to come back on Sunday. That's some of our news. I suppose I ought to post some of that on my profile so I don't need to write it to everyone! okay - love ya! will keep in touch. Barbara
  • Hey David, How time flies! Janet lives in Erie,Pa.
I just went back to Pa. in August. I saw my mom and Janet and her family.
    God bless! .
  • David!! How are you? I saw Greg Moore a couple of weeks ago at a class we are taking and he told me about this website. I only signed on last night. It's a little overwhelming at first - but I've enjoyed remembering people and catching up with folks I know. I love the family pictures you have posted. I am going to try to figure out how to do some fancy stuff like that.. eventually. What are you doing these days? Love you, brother! Barbara
  • David, I guess that was 1st year in Weirwille , Right? But I can't remember the others. You'll have to refresh my memory. Where are you in VA. We are about 1 hr east of Richmond.
    Great to hear from you.
    Keep in touch.

    Don
  • David, Family here for Christmas (early) and we've been going through pictures. Found the ones from Jamaica to send you. I've scanned them, but not seeing your email address (???). Maybe it's here...just not seeing it. Anyway, I'm ready to send them your direction......Let me know how... Rhonda Stephenson
  • Hi David! great to hear from you. ...and the photos are neat. Was so terrific to have some time with you a year ago in MD. What great memories we all share. It was a hunger for the Word that brought us all together...to get to know God and His Son...and Ephesians still reads the same as it always did.

You're the best. Our greatest days are ahead. He'll meet us at our desire. Keep in touch.

    Kevin
  • Hi David
I responded to you once I read your post to me, but did not click on “Add Comment” below. Did not know I had to. You have not changed at all. Why did you leave the VA and moved to mud-sliding, earth-shaking, smokey CA? I know God is taking good care of you. We lived in El Monte during our apprentice yr as WOWs. I loved the state, but my wife was afraid of the earthquakes, mudslides and the flooding rains. She prefers Florida's hurricanes. LOLThanks for sending me a note. It means a lot to me you remembered me. Who did you marry? anyone I know?
    We have three children:
Tamika Maria 18 a froshman at Florida Gulf Coast University, psychology major GPA 3.8 and beautiful like her mother, but my brains LOL. She was a color guard in high school and took dancing lessons and became quite good at it. She danced a ballet solo…you know on her tows, in a show put on by her music teacher. I was very impressed and proud. I proudly told my neighbors sitting next to me that that beautiful girl dancing is MY DAUGHTER.
Corban Roberto 16, a jr in hs, honors roll consecutively, self taught guitarist and doing a concert later this morning 12/09 in Orlando. He will seek a law degree and plans to play guitar as a hobby. Would enter Julliard if accepted, but not a priority. He played a solo in a show at his hs. I was very impressed and blessed. I proudly told my neighbors sitting next to me that that handsome young man playing that 12-string guitar is MY SON. That's right!
Landon Bernard 14 a 7th grader and also honors student, a drummer, not self taught though, he’s taking lessons from a Julliard grad and plans to play drums in the high school band in 2 yrs. At that time, I will say to my neighbors sitting next to me that that handsome young man playing those drums is MY SON.
My boys get their musical aptitude probably from their aunt, Diane’s sister, for Diane and I are great dancers at best, not musicians.

  • Hey David!

You are so right! This is a better medium than a funeral for sure! Let's not be having any more of those please!

This is a great way to keep in touch,

    Dana
  • Boy, that is a coincidence. Did you get the entire piece or just the chorus (which is what we used to listen to)?
  • I believe you were the one who enjoyed listening to Handels Messiah with me. Those were the days.
