"Thanks, Steve. Faith is a big deal. As children of the living God, we are part of that story beginning in Genesis. As partners (junior partners, it should be said) with God, working with Him, we are participants in His mighty works!"

  • God bless you, Dan. Praise God for the Christ In each of us!!! What a wonderful life we have the privilege of living. xoxoB
  • Hi Dan. You left a note for me on the "Dream. . ." blog. Thanks a lot. I am very encouraged by that kind of input. Hebrews has really ministered to me lately. God sort of highlighted that "you have need of patience" verse and as I began to dig in I found so much treasure. It is not just about faith the get stuff from God. It is about faith over the long haul and it seems I have been hauling longer than I planned. But I am starting to know that is OK, even healthy if I "cast not away my confidence which has great recompense of reward." Anyway, blessings on you and thanks again. Elaine Landmark
  • Dan,

I addressed your question on the Junior Corps blog (check it out).

    Question...

Do you know exactly when the ministry sold the Indiana Campus property (the year)?

It must have been not long after you graduated from the Family Corps?

    Let me know,

    Joe
  • Hi Dan,
Congrats G-Pa! I heard from one of the younger believers (hah, mid-late 20's is now younger people!) about the new arrival to your awesome family. Beautiful baby:) I just was looking at your fantastic pics from Rome City Campus. All I could think of was how I would love to be back at Rome City again with the wonderful, wonderful family I had privilege to share my time inCorps with. The pic of the three girls just blew my mind. How fast they grow. My baby Elisse (going to be 24!) just got engaged on Christmas Eve. Where do the days go? I just take "One day at a time" with my heavenly Father and try to stay so thankful for all HE has done for me through my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. It has been all done for me and I am endeavoring daily to just enjoy what is already mine instead of trying to re-invent the wheel. No need to as it works just great without my 2 cents:) How is everyone doing your way? Well, just had to say Hi again to all of you. Please please give my best love to all...agape
  • Dan, the Man, "My Poetry Man,"

Often I think of our Providential reconnection after decades of a hiatus, although we weren’t really connected in a notable way in the first place. I remember that I was looking for the author of a poem that I recall not knowing the author of. Even though I found that the author was anonymous, I continued looking at websites which had cited the poem, and I came across your fellowlaborers site, many moons ago. When I opened your “Poet’s Corner” or something to that effect, my poem “Good News Day” leaped off the screen to greet me. I was delighted beyond belief, and our correspondence has continued over the years, despite occasional lapses, but it is always a joy to communicate with you, my brother and dear friend. I thought of you the other day when I was trying to find a poem that I would like to use in one of the new books that I’m working on. I don’t know the title nor the author, and I don’t recall any of the lines, but I have read or heard a poem that draws a contrast between the Dead Sea and the Sea of Galillee and/or the Jordan River. Do you recall such a poem from your vast knowledge of poems of that nature, similar to those which you cited on the previous website that once highlighted “vintage” poetry from those long, bygone days along The Way? Let me know if you recall such a poem or if you know of a resource that I might check to see if I can find the poem I have in mind.

Before I close, let me offer best regards and blessings for the New Year. I think this is the first time I "virtually talked with you” this year. Let’s keep the flow goin, Bro. I see you’ve revamped your Corps webpage. Lookin good, Good friend!

We’ll be in touch. I always look forward to hearing from you. You mentioned looking forward to reading Stone upon Stone: Psalms of Remembrance on a wintry day, and it looks like we’ve all got a few frosty days wrapped in white. By the way, I’m working a new collection tentatively entitled Immortalized in a Sonnet: Selected Poetry from a Son to His Father, which will feature some of the many sonnets that I’ve written over the years. I’ll keep you posted as I progress. Everything is falling into place, now that I’m seriously intent on finishing the manuscript before my next birthday which will be June 17. In addition I have a number of other projects with Ambassador Press. By the way, if you haven’t taken a look at my website in awhile, check it out and see the publications we’ve completed under “Our Books.” I think you’ll be blessed.

Got to go, Bro. I thank God for you and the blessing you are to me and so many others in the Body.

    Lonnell
  • Hey there Haas Family!

WOW it is great to see everyone! the girls have sure grown up. Well I guess we all have grown up now. It was a blessing to hear from you and thank for the F14 and F15 Photo.
  • Dan,
I can be a bit slow at times...so help me out here. Is Lauren presently serving in the Whitehouse kitchen?
If so, how did that all come about? Nice picture with Barney and Mrs. Beasely.
Does that mean she/you get to hob knob with George/Laura?

  • We are online together. Should you ever get to Springfield, if you let me know Lisa and I would love to meet you there. We stayed at bed and breakfast right across the street from the Lincoln neighborhood so we were able to walk everywhere. Monticello and Fallingwater would be really cool to see as well.

  • Hi Dan,

I saw your posting of the Lincoln Proclamation and enjoyed it. This past October Lisa and went to Springfield IL to visit the Lincoln Museum and Historical area. I posted a few of the pictures we took while there. If you are interested in Lincoln, this is a really wonderful area to visit. The museum is fairly new and really really well done.

  • Cool scooter man! You look at home on it. The 750 has stood the test of time....and so have you.....at least you can get the feel of the wind blowing through your beard. Is your state a no-helmet state? I wish Ga was. One of the things I enjoyed about Texas, when I live there, was getting out and going anywhere within the state without the helmet. Good for you, brother!
