About Me
After graduation I moved back to Asheville, NC (where I took PFAL) with the assignment of starting a Twig which I did. I married one of my spiritual partners and we enjoyed 13 years of marriage and had a daughter in 1992. At this writing, she is 15 and a freshman in high school. She spent the first 12 years of her life in NC, I spent about 30 years there. Now both of us live in ROchester, NY where the rest of my family lives.
My life consists of many pursuits the most important being to make a good life in my new location. Even for an extrovert like me it is challenging to make new friends. I joined a gym and take aerobics and cycling classes there. Over a year ago I joined a singles "meet-up" group. The activities coordinators are excellent and I enjoy the get-togethers.
My Interests
Bird-watching, Festivals, taking day trips to Niagara Falls, Toronto, Finger Lakes region. I love home decorating, dabble in watercolors, drinking tea with friends, playing bridge, and messing around on my computer. I'm always interested in self-improvement.
Employment or Career
No matter what I've done, it has always revolved around sales. I've sold commercial foodservice equipment, been a waitress, sold AAA memberships, cleaned houses, and cleaned windows. My last career move-a real stunner-I was hired by Prudential and trained/licensed as a financial planner. Still lots of sales involved, but what I always loved about it was the closeness I had to my clients, many of whom became friends.
Now I'm semi-retired and focusing on giving my daughter the best possible rearing I can. When she graduates from high school, I hope she attends college and I hope that I will have a loving relationship with a man after God's own heart and mine, too.
Music I Like
The blues...Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Allman Bros. John Mayer, Bonnie Raitt. I also actually enjoy listening to the pop tunes my daughter likes...not all of them but most.
Books I Like
Cookbooks, O Magazine, self improvement stuff, gardening.
Television I like
Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Dancing with the Stars, The Office, My Name is Earl, 30Rock, Survivor, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report
Movies I like
Walk the Line, The Thomas Crown Affair (steamy!!), LA Confidential, Fargo
Sports Teams I like
Buffalo Bills, Husband likes the Yankees

We love Asheville, N.C. We have a cabin near there. I don't think I could move from there to Rochester...you're a brave and/or warm blooded woman!
I teach overview classes inHuman Environmental Sciences, also known as Family and Consumer Sciences. Classes that are required for all of our majors in the school to take...which adds a challenge of student attitude. I love teaching and love my schedule. The b.s. of the wrld pf academia...not so much.
I don't know if David is going to sign up here or not, but I'll let him know you said hello.
Sorry for my delay on this message. Life is hectic when you homeschool. K..let's see...
Hubby used to be the bass player for The Outlaws. He played with them in the 80's. He is not one of the originals. Personally, I had no idea who they were. He was trying to woo me by mentioning who he played with thinking I would be swooned, instead I said "Who?"...lol...talk about a bruise to his ego. he he!
This is my fourth church since I left TWI. Each church has a different thing that we have needed to learn in our spiritual walk and growth. We usually pick non-denominations although we did attend an Assemblies of God for two years at one time. We don't like to commit ourselves to any denomination since we believe that our denomination is "God" and believe that different churches have different things to offer at different stages of our lives.
We love where we are now, but who is to say that God will say to us "it's time to move on" and we will be there to say "here we are, send us".
Love ya sister. Good to talk to you! (virtually)

We need Joy before she married Jim and moved to Buffalo. We didn't know she stayed with the way--she was a renegade when we knew her. Oh, well, I can still pray for her!
Yes, we are neighbors! My husband travels to Rochester a lot these days. We also go to visit Carl & Cheryl Herke. She is 10th Corps (Cheryl Bork) and they do a fellowship in Victor. Perhaps we'll see you sometime! You can always come to Syracuse to hang with us--our door is always open and we keep the light on!
Love ya,
Susie B.
