The Way College of Emporia Recipe Booklet 1981- 1982

Here is the recipe booklet that was given to the 10th Corps at the end of our final year by the Kitchen Staff. Some of these recipes may be familiar to the 8th, 9th, 11th, and 12th Corps.

The booklet is 28 years old, so it looks a little tired, but is readable. If anyone wants to horse around with these pdf's to touch them up and improve upon this initial work, please, feel free to do so. The actual paper size is 8 1/2" x 11".

  • Also from another discussion:

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL "HAPPY EATING" BOOKLET BY OUR WONDERFUL GRACE BLISS.

GRACE'S DAUGHTER, LOUISE BLISS LIEBER, REPUBLISHED A NEW VERSION OF HAPPY EATING IN 1981 WITH 80 PAGES COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL WITH 28 PAGES. THERE ARE MANY MORE RECIPIES. IT MAY BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE FROM THE WAY INTERNATIONAL BOOKSTORE.
  • Here it is Rob in one PDF file in reduced size and pages rotated correctly:

I also added it to our LINKS section on this site so people can download it. Thanks for contributing.
  • Jan- I never liked liver, and I tried- we were so hungry there most of the time our first year. I usually traded my liver to someone for their mashed potatoes- without their gravy.
Good to hear from you again.
Thank God John Lynn came in there and increased the portion size during our last year,
  • Thank you, Rob, for giving us this recipe book. My long-term memory must be horrible . . . I only remember eating maybe one-fourth of those recipes at Emporia. But I remember the beef liver Gene Slavit and his kitchen crew served us one day for lunch. Most of it went back to the kitchen as leftovers, and the next day we had . . . . liver soup!!!! God bless you!!! Jan (Goins) Rawlins
  • Sweeeeet!
I reckon I could find just about all the ingredients for these recipes and cook up something besides Vegemite on toast and wombat stew...
    Thanks, mate.
