On March 10, 2012 I (we) lost a Corps brother, business and ministry partner, and dear friend.
WALLINGFORD - Arne Yaghsizian went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 10, 2012. He passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his wife of 29 years, Catherine; and his three loving children, Elana (26), Daniel (21), and Mariel (17); as well as his 99 year old mother, Ephronia.Born to Hagop and Ephronia in 1952, Arne was raised in the Boston Armenian Community, along with sisters Lucy and Dorothy. He met his wife on a mission trip to California and they were married in 1982. Arne had passion for his mission work in Africa, Haiti, and India, and the charity he started to help needy children, Jazz'd4Life. He also touched many lives through his business, I Can Do Services, which served the greater New Haven area for over 25 years. Arne was known throughout the community as a generous lover of Christ and a bridge-builder between church communities. His memory and work will live on through the lives he has touched over the years.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to www.jazzed4life.org. You can check out the memorial page at the B.C.Bailey Funeral Home. There is a memorial serviced planned for Sunday, April 15, 2012, 3 P.M. at Wellspring Church in Kensington, CT.
Although I only knew Arne a little while in our first year of residence with the 14th Corps (he was one of those married people), I got to know he and Catherine Brubeck Yaghsizian (7th Corps) better during the Nineties. It was when we moved back to the Connecticut Area that we soon began a wonderful relationship. Arne was passionate for the Lord and people. He touched so many with his smile, demeanor and care and concern for others. He was a driving force in the Christian Churches of Central CT coming together in unity.
Arne went on many mission trips to Israel, Haiti, and Kenya. I was privileged to participate in many of these with him. Arne was instrumental in the building of churches, schools, children's homes, and hospitals in the countries that he visited. He and Catherine started a non-profit organization called Jazz'd 4 Life to assist in this endeavor. He affected and infected many with his passion for Christ. Arne was always the first to lead in prayer and ministry.
Arne and I partnered both in ministry and work. We together pastored a thriving community of believers for over ten years and were business partners for eight. We were the brothers that neither had in real life. He will truly be missed...but we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God that we will one day be forever entrenched in the loving arms of the Father.

Jazzed 4 Life is an awesome foundation that was started by Arne and Catherine. It is a legacy of Arne's that will continue for years and help thousands of people. Read about it here.
In my opinion it is a great cause ond one worthy of consideration for your donations and involvement.
I pray that God comforts Catherine's heart as well as the children. God Bless.
I enjoyed knowing Arnie in residence. He was funny and passionate. It is a great loss.
I am sorry to hear this. I did not know Arne but have heard and read good things about his life. I was in the 7th Coprs with Catherine, also a good person with a giving heart.
