  • Well since no one else has done it I will scan Happy Eating to PDF and post it here. Coming soon. Then we will have these recipies forever. I wanna try Braun Food again.

God bless Grace Bliss. She was ahead of her time. Once I went to her with some symptoms, flu or stomach upset or something minor and asked what I can do about it.

She said in that grandmotherly voice with that little sparkle in her eye.......

    "Do you smoke?"
    "Yes, I said, sheepishly."
She replied, "Then I can't help you!"
    And walked away.

How cool is that?! It was 1977.

Here is a picture of her riding on the back of Barry Jones new mototcycle.

  • I was looking through the posts in this forum and wondered if Rob Agsten was ever able to PDF the old Emporia cookbook and post it here (or somewhere on this website). Anyone know? (Rob, it was great to see a picture of you! Chris and I have been in N.C. for the past 20+ years . . . . love to you!!!!)

  • There is a free program called cutepdf that you can download and when you want to convert a file you just print it, but you choose cutepdf as your printer and it makes the document.

  • Rob - I just saw your posts here about scanning a document. What you want to do is scan to PDF. I beliueve you have to have the full blown version of Adobe Acrobat installed to be able to do that.

I see you did the one page. But no, you do not have to scan to OCR. Just scan it directly to an Adobe PDF file. No need to go to Word, then PDF. Most scanneds will convert to pdf during the scan.

Alternative #1 - you can take your document to a local Kinkos and they will turn it into a pdf file for you and give it to you on your flash drive or on a cd for a pretty cheap price.

Alternative #2 - send it to me and I will convert the doc to a pdf file for free and return it to you. We will post that PDF here for all to download and enjoy.
