So true Sheila ... you must have hands on "shovels on" experience ...
Often when I go in the yard at night, there is some rustling and if I have a flashlight, I'll see a bunch of eyes looking at me ... fortunately they run off, and I haven't had to defend my turf much, but they sure like those bite sized ears of corn in the summer ...
Nice video. That's definitely one of the perks of living in the country. Of course, the part where they were nibbling on your grapevines and yoiu were beating them with a shovel was edited out.
I'll try to get better audio next time ... that was the TV ... ha.
Your Blue Hills sound nice ... we have a lot of bald eagles along the river mostly, I see them here at times. Recently we've had white pelicans come through, large birds that fly in formation ... real nice. Of course we get a lot of geese as well ... the Mississippi flyway is a busy avenue ... you can really appreciate their size when you get close, as you experienced ... pretty groovy :)
Just beautiful, thanks Bill! Outside of Boston are the Blue Hills. Deer, coyote, fox and the most magnificent eagles. One came through the summer before last and almost landed on the roof of the car. Wing span at least 6 feet. One of those awesome days. :)

Darn! I thought you'd found that elusive herd of incredible talking Illinois deer! If you ever track them down, you could make millions.

it's a love/hate relationship ... :)
