BLOGS

Blog or Article?

Blogs often focus on personal opinion, experiences, views, anecdotes or advice. Blogs tend to have a relaxed and conversational feel, such as in storytelling and are generally 300-500 words.

Articles aim to deliver well-researched, informative content with solid evidence to back up the points made.  Articles are usually more formal, organized and frequently range 500-1000 words.

Our recent community garage sale sent me to my attic to ask myself again "Why do I still have that?" I have always used garage sales to purge stuff I no longer need.

This year I saw something in the corner of my attic that I put together some 30 years ago. It was my Mal-Pak survival kit. Around 1982 we were led to believe the end of our country was near. There was going to be an inevitable collapse of everything. The best plan was to head to the wilderness and live off the land when (not if) things collapsed. This was before the internet and cell phones. The advice was to become expert at survival techniques, move out to some remote area and fend for yourself if not defend yourself. What's not shown in the picture are my gun and bullets.

It was a scary time, not because of the condition of our country. It was scary because of what we were being told was coming.

The months and years rolled by and so did everyday life. Nothing happened. In fact our country experienced great prosperity and economic growth unlike we have seen since. Meanwhile my Mal Pak collected dust in the attic.

Turns out the best advice would have been to invest in America and buy stocks of little known or smaller companies at the time like Wal Mart, McDonalds, Apple and Microsoft among dozens of others. (Glad I did later.) The more conspiratorial among us could have even hoarded gold and not done too bad.

I feel we are at another turning point in this great country and that good times are ahead. Though some may disagree and say to "head for the hills", I am looking forward to seeing what God will do for us in the next 30 years.

  • I don't go to this site very often, so I have just read these responses. Thank you Wes Van Winkle for the info. It is consistent with what I remember. I remember seeing the fear on the faces of the people on the floor. It could well be that they were just afraid of loosing a bunch of money rather than afraid of a total collapse, but a potential crises of some kind was real. I don't know that our prayers or preparation were the difference, but I am not embarrassed that we tried. For those who think they went out of their way for no good reason, you are a piker compared to what we did. We were in NY, West Chester County, just North of the city. We not only stored food and gasoline but also planned an escape for our counterparts in Long Island.

  • Iona, we all laughed too. His parents ought to have been shot for naming their child Peter. :) No wonder he had to escape from reality. For those who do not know his last name is pronounced BEATER....Dr. Peter Beter. THat's with a long E (no pun intended).

Only in the Way Corps could God have provided such comedic relief.

  • To me Dr. Peter Beter is a quack! I mean come on. How can you believe the man at all? Among other things he believes there are human "Robotoids" among us like in Men in Black. Oh how I miss those incredible tapes they played for us.....it passed the time and was very entertaining to say the least. Ha, ha.

  • I sure seem to have missed a lot while in-residence.  I suppose that might not be a surprise to a lot of people.  Haven't seen any black helicopters here...at least not yet.

  • Hey John, I know that we are not in the old testament. But Naaman didn't want to wash in the Jordan either. And I can't believe that you think that there is gold in Fort Knox.

I went through my files again. Did not find a letter about the Malpak. But I did find a hand written paper of what to have.  It starts out with mal - more abundant life. It is quite a list. You would need a big backpack to fit all of this in. It also has a section of what the twig should have. From what Steve wrote, it came from the Limb.

I also did a google search of Fort Knox and hit the "gold mine." There was an article about missing gold from Fort Knox and they interviewed a man named Dr. Peter Beter. That's the guy we listened to while we were in residence. We listened to a tape about the Jonestown suicides and the Russian base in Guiney.

Dr.Peter Beter was a very interesting man. He was very involved in Washington, D.C. and had top level sources. He was into intelligence and would report what he knew in his audio letter. He reported of the removal of a large amount of gold from Fort Knox. There is still a small amount of gold there. He told about the Khazur kingdom, the kingdom that adopted Judeaism for their religion. He even documented it by telling of the book "The 13th Tribe". He reported about the financial crises in 1979 and gave a great history lesson of the great depression. But he also talked about a nuclear war to take place at about the same time. He got up to February of 1980 but had a massive heart attack while doing that letter. He did survive and continued his audio letters for a few more years. All of his audio letters are available and very interesting. And he was a little out there on a few things. But I have a brain. I can read and decide what I want to believe. He did not give advice like "head for the hills". He did realize that it was a spiritual battle and that satan was behind all of these attacks.

  • "but it is comforting to know Him who does"

    Amen brother!

  • Ok. Fair enough. I appreciate and respect your input as much as I do my own, Steve. Great to see you again.

Truly this world is a mess. I kinda gave up on these things a long time ago and gave it all to God. I have no answers on these issues but it is comforting to know Him who does.

  • This is an interesting discussion, so I'll add my personal opinions and make it a bit more bizarre.

In 1979 after graduation I was advised to set up a phone booth call network with my Twig leaders as a precaution to ???.  I spoke with a Corps brother years later who said that we were prepping for a "Red Dawn" type of assault.

A couple of things I've learned over the years:  while conspiracy theories abound, the simple fact is that the rulers of this world are more evil than I ever imagined.  Satan's control almost every facet of popular society is simply blatant.  And the only thing they fear is a believer walking in the power of the new birth.

NWO, Globalism, Political Correctness, Diversity/Inclusion agendas, etc. all existed at other times.  Palestine was under occupation when Jesus Christ walked the earth, yet he focused on on spiritual matters rather than political ones.

It's been a few decades since I read my Way Tree syllabus, but in there was something in there called the Family Plan.  We have choices to be "self sufficient", be somewhat prepared or really prepared, have a few groceries stashed away or a lot, or believe that when grocery stores are empty that our cupboard just replenishes -- each man or woman according to their own believing.

I think the main point, at least for me, is to believe that God is my sufficiency, make sure I'm on talking terms with Father regularly so if an alarm goes off in my inner man I'm paying attention, and to use my brains a little.

I try to avoid thinking about the time that is coming when knocks on the door come to take away people in the night -- that day is coming and because I'm a little bit chicken I pray it's after the parousia

I have no doubt that bad events have been turned aside by prayer, believing and God's grace.  Known Satanists who actively work to enslave countries and are at work for their own version of "paradise" have acknowledged that their schedule is behind.  I think it important not to let all this (and I have way too much of this type of info in my own head) deflect us from Word Over the Inhabited Earth (plus some parts of Nevada I recently drove through :-)  ).

And for full disclosure:  I think the gold that was in Ft. Know is long gone.

  • Good info Les. Great to see you again! I believe he was a good man and believed in the power of prayer and loved our country. No complaints from me on that. But I believe he was way overboard on some things and was misinformed by people who gathered info for him or presented certain articles to him.

Once on the motor coach on our interim year....1978??? he personally told me and another girl you know:

    1. "There is no gold in Fort Knox. It's all gone."

A ridiculous conspiracy theory that has been floating around for 50 years: http://www.cnbc.com/id/43391588

    2. "If the prime rate goes above 18% our country is finished....it will collapse."

As you stated, the prime rate went above 18% and nothing happened. But it would have been an awesome time to buy safe Treasury bonds and put your money even in the bank or great paying money market fund.

Where in the heck did he get this mis-information? People. There was no Internet back then to cross check facts or to get other opinions.

Today the prime rate is 3.5% and bonds are not such a great investment and you get a whopping .01% interest on your money markets and banks. Mortgage rates are insanely historically low however. Therefore these days it may be a good time to invest in stocks and real estate and gold. All very carefully and all subject to change as the economy changes.

It's cool to pray for our country. I believe the power of prayer has maybe even held things together.

If he had told me to wash in the Jordan 7 times I would not have done it. This is not the Old Testament. Plus I hate swimming in muddy dirty water.   smile.gif

  • I did a little research about 1979 and found a lot of things going on. One of the biggest opportunities in the United States was having Jimmy Carter as our President. Remember the "misery index"? In January of 1979, the Shah of Iran was overthrown which was part of the Iran Revolution. This sent oil prices skyrocketing. In 1979, we had the fall of the dollar, 13% inflation rate, 13% unemployment, and a 21% prime rate. Money markets were paying 18% and mortgages were up to 17%. I would say this was a financial crises.

In the summer of 1979, Independent truck drivers went on strike to protest the rise of diesel fuel. There was a big scare that all of the truckers would strike. That would shut down the grocery stores in 3 days. Not to mention the transport of fuel. It would have crippled the country.

Gold prices were climbing fast. By October of 1979, gold was trading at over $450 an ounce. For years, gold traded for about $35 an ounce. In the latter part of December, the USSR invaded Afghanistan. That was a big deal! By the middle of January 1980, gold hit it's all time high of $850, probably the day that Ken was praying on the stock room floor.

It kind of makes me think "where was I" during all of this. I remember very little of all this. I took some time today to find the letter about the malpak and especially to find the date we were notified about it. I was pretty sure it was in the latter part of 1979 or early 1980 because of where I was living at the time. But I did not find it.

I am so thankful I never had to use my malpak. I am thankful nothing happened. But I do believe that Dr. Wierwille received revelation to tell us to put this together. And most of us acted. What if he had told us to wash in the Jordan 7 times.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
