BLOGS

Blog or Article?

Blogs often focus on personal opinion, experiences, views, anecdotes or advice. Blogs tend to have a relaxed and conversational feel, such as in storytelling and are generally 300-500 words.

Articles aim to deliver well-researched, informative content with solid evidence to back up the points made.  Articles are usually more formal, organized and frequently range 500-1000 words.

May 20th, 2010 is 25 years since Dr. Wierwille fell asleep. I still miss him, and am thankful for his
life and what he meant to me. He loved and believed in me and accepted me when no one else did.

He taught me to love and respect God, Jesus Christ, my parents, my country, fellow believers, and fellow men and women. Above all, he taught me to read the Bible and walk on it, realizing Jesus Christ was the only one who walked perfectly.

Dr. had as many flaws as the rest of us; after all he was human and needed a savior, too. I had the honor of him yelling at me once--but he had a way of making me feel good about it. Wasn't that "tough love"?

He also made me laugh, cry, and feel the joy of living. At a time when I was so hardened I couldn't feel any emotion whatsoever, his teaching and love reached down and cracked through the rock and made me able to feel once again.

I still appreciate the "Family of God" he tried to get us to be a part of and live in. He got us to work together, play together, laugh together, cry together, and boy oh boy did we EAT together!! I am abundantly thankful for all of those--many of YOU here on this site--who helped me along the way. I know you because of him!

My life is infinitely better because of Dr. Wierwille. His ministry reached me when no one else's did.

If anyone would like to share an incident or story where Dr. Wierwille helped or enhanced your life, please feel free to post it here. I'd appreciate it, and others might, too!

  • I need help here Agape! I think I might have told this wrong. I think we did the WOW training at headq..aut... and then went back to England to do the European wow thingy and then come to the corps...
Now I an so confused. help me help me, just trying to get this right...
  • I could blog here for hours of what happened in my life when I first met Dr. W. and his wonderful wife. Not to mention Uncle Harry a year or so earlier. It goes back to England many years ago. Should I talk about Bristol, at the advanced class when he told me to get Agape together and put all words and music (notes) of every song we can sing down on paper and deliver it to him by 8am the next morning at the breakfast table. (We were up all night) HA! If any of Agape read this, they will remember! We delivered. Then we went into the next part of the advanced class...no sleep...up yours Chris Geer lol ...just joking, (those that were there know what I am talking about). Next thing we knew was we flew to the USA, performed at the advanced class at emporia, then flew to ohio, did the sunday night service, then the courtyard after party in front of the wierwille home. Hung out for a few hours of sleep and then flew back to England and did the European wow festival. Days later we, or some of us made a mad dash to the airport, boarded the plane and ended up in the 9th way corps. The rest of Agape followed into the next's corps, with the exception of Mark (bless you Mark). VPW had vision and believed in us as Agape. Many of us still stand and love God today! I have many more stories and truths that would amaze you all. This is just one of them...DB
  • Thank you for sharing, Ted. I couldn't agree more. Many of the old songs still get replayed in my head, including songs like your "Thanks to Calvary, I don't live there anymore"! "The Fireside Song" and others from Agape often get played. So many of the Joyful Noise songs were so energizing, comforting, and a host of other good things! Branded was great, too. So were The Victors". The songs on Claudette's tape still send me through the roof (sure wish I had that, my old copy got wore out!). And who can forget Brian Bliss's "Sons of God"? Well, there are hundreds of them, too many to name here.

Well, we'll have a great gathering One Day, and I am sure there will be music galore! I got my affairs in order and I'm "Ready To Go"!!
  • Yes I miss the man more than my words can express.

First of all he taught me The Word Of God like no one before or since. I have gone to this and that church but most fall short in preaching or teaching of the revealed Word And Will Of God.

VP loved The Word in music and song and many times made this statement ; next to the greatness of God's taught Word the second greatest way to move God's Word is through music. He truly believed that and that was the reason for Way Productions
At times ,believers, and unbelievers will remember a song more so than The Word they just heard

To this day I get requests for much of the old Way Prod. music. Some of those requests come from Way critics that have no use for any Way stuff , but they still like much of the songs Way Prod. did.

Way Productions was a dream of VP and I thank God I got to serve with him and the body of Christ.

So many wonder filled memories I have of Dr Wierwille. I loved him and I still do.

  • John, you bring up a good point I hadn't fully appreciated... Dr.'s children all made (involuntary) sacrifices in not being able to spend the kind of time kids do with their Dad (I know what that's like, having a Dad that saw me a week per year, if even that). I hope they know how thankful some of us are that we have our very lives because of their Dad. A big thank you to them, too.
  • I liked him. I did not personally know him. But I liked him. A blog of this nature could go all over the map. I know from experience. I trust it will not here. All I would ask is that folks who may not quite feel the same way respect the fact that Wierwille children and relatives are here too. Some of them I do know. And they are outstanding people.

25 years! Has it really been that long? My goodness how time passes.
  • It was such an awesome privilege to have had the chance to meet such a man who would change my life forever! I thought I had it pretty together, but God's Word was so simply opened up to me by PFAL and all that was to follow because of Dr. Wierwille"s many years of working The Word, that saying thank you would never be enough! I've often thought about and been so utterly amazed that God would allow me the privilege of being alive at this time and that I would be one of the blessed ones to have been able to know Dr. and Mrs. Wierwille. I'd like to say thank you to their family for sharing them with us! I love them and miss them as I'm sure many others do too! My life has been changed !
  • to coin one of the most over used, but phrase from my in-residence days; "I saw the love and learned alot", not to be compared to; "seconds are available"

    IT'S THE WORD, KIDS

In-residence, the days of our spiritual youth. care free and bare foot. Sometimes it seems like a dream. i live in Wichita and will from time just stop at the old campus. I hold my youth in high esteem, but i hold my spiritual youth in the highest esteem. You all are God's best.

    All my love,

    Mike Prahm
  • "His ministry reached me when no one else;s did." Very much the way I feel. We bumped heads a few times, but if it wasn't for PFAL and Twigs I'd be dead.
