Steve, leave it to you to make me have to think. Dang you. I am tired after a long Monday of work.
Good point. But it was before his conversion and stuff. Ya know? And he was an extreme case. I am more talking about maybe if I acted like an ass to a brother or sister in ministry....a real ass...and I was wrong and realized it later. What I would do is seek that person out and apologize.
If I were an ass to a larger group of people or so many I couldn't remember them all, I would try a sort of mass apology. I am not talking about groveling or confessing sins with sackcloth and ashes. Just being open to all and having a change of heart. I have seen it on some profiles both here and on other sites.......something like "To anyone I may have hurt while ????? I apologize for that and am reachable via ??? and would love to hear from you"
It is my opinion...having a deep relationship with He who is Head of the Body, Jesus, Jesus Christ, Christ Jesus, etc. is indeed absolutely necessary to truly be able to walk circumspectly and in true liberty, and consequently/subsequently steer clear of the witchcraft that has pervaded the organized Christian church...witchcraft as practiced by church leadership over the vulnerable members of the body of Christ, for filthy lucre sake, for sexual abuse, and just simple manipulation and control for one's own ego and ministry sake.
Thank God for those who serve the body of Christ for no other reason than love for God and to bring Him glory and to truly help others for His sake.
Love and blessings!

Next is correcting the wrong doctrine we were taught, and if you've not seen our list of 25 topics TWI mishandled, just email me at jal@tltf.org and I"ll send it to you. As you know, Jesus said that knowing the truth would set one free; thus the converse clearly is that believing error puts one in bondage to some degree, and the more vital the topic, the greater the bondage of error.
And then it is a matter of getting and keeping your heart honest before the Lord Jesus, counting on him to be your Savior from "the sin that dwells in us" (Rom. 7:18). We can humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, knowing that He will lift us up in due season.
And finally, being part of a group of Christians committed to both knowing and LIVING the truth is critical for personal growth. We each need other people who love us enough to tell us when they think we're off track, and we need to be that kind of person. It is risky, because my perception could be wrong, but as we develop intimacy with one another, we can work through such situations, giving one another the benefit of the doubt.
Love!

Even he, due to his desire to reach people in Jerusalem, screwed up. But we all know what Acts 28:31 says... "Preaching the kingdom of malcontent, and teaching those things concerning his enlightened view on how the ministry screwed up."
Sometimes she's meaner'n a snake to me, but that cuz I deserve it sometimes...
Jeff I agree with you on that point.
It is my opinion that if perpetrators became abusers of other brothers and sisters in our past it is appropriate to offer a sincere apology to them. One-on-one preferrably or in some general statement if they hurt lots of folks. This seems to go a long way and helps old wounds to heal.
Sometimes it is amazing what a few kind words can do.
