About Me
I'm happily married to an oil painter. We have six kids between us - four are his, two are mine, one I helped raise so I really have three kids (if that makes any sense.) All of them are grown and on with their separarte, fascinating cult-free lives. I'm a clinical social worker in a maximum security prison where I work with mentally ill inmates. I have also written a book about my experiences in The Way called Losing The Way. It's been a very diffiicult boook to write but I've changed the names and identities of some people with the exception of VPW and myself. (I hope you won't recogize yourself.) Life has been good to me. Peace.

Hi Kris, I just finished reading your book "Losing The Way" and couldn't put it down; Tom is reading it now. I'm sorry that I didn't get to know you better when we were in the Corps. I have a feeling that our parent's may have known each other back in New York; Tom and I are from The Bronx but have lived in Michigan for the past 24 years.
My e-mail is loisgueli@gmail.com
Hope you're enjoying the holiday, Lois
Just finished reading your book and am a fan of your blog. Have written to you on your blog, hoping to encourage you to keep going, if only for my sake! My husband & I were in the 10th Corps, and we suffered thru all of it as well as thru all our time at HQ after that on Staff. I told God out loud that if this was His version of Heaven on Earth before the next one, please send me to Hell. And I meant that absolutely. As much as I thot I knew about the underbelly of The Way, your book brought it home in many more ways. VPW asked you to write about him after he was dead, and you did. We were in TWI for 15 years and have been out many more trying to live with some semblance of peace. Your book has added so many pieces to the puzzle. Thank you very much, Marilyn Shirley
Thanks for writing the book. I got it from Amazon and read it last week. I couldn't put it down until it was finished. Thanks for mustering the courage to put your account into print - and for writing it so well. It's a deeply affecting story and it sure helps me put things into perspective.
Kind regards,
Rhys
Amazing, amazing book. I need to e-mail you. You have hit some things in my life.
I just finished your book and wanted to thank you for your courage to put it down on paper. I got into the ministry summer of '71 in NC and left in '87 when it was evident that nothing was going to change. I am also a therapist now and working in the addictions field. Your book came into my hands as I prepare to work my 4th Step work...it helped me remember things I'd forgotten...and how strong denial is when I would rationalize things I saw happening that I knew were off the Word. Now I just want to live life and love God. I do service and have fellowship through my work and 12-Step program. Thank you again for your gift to us all...honesty. Robin
I have noticed your name on this and thought to say hello. You often have been in my thoughts the years past and am glad to see that you are well.
To remind you who I am, I lived in Rye not far from you and you taught me american expressions such as "he is a ham" and you showed me typical american xmas movies.
I now live in Paris and have my business and ......
If you want, I would enjoy to hear from you. My email is nkoenz@expat-elan.com.

Thank you. John R.
Kris, I read your blog, and you spoke about "Mack Truck" depression. I work with college students, and depression is a frequent topic. Let's discuss "off line" if you wish - my email address is: SteveStuff@EmericaMedia.com.
Take care and stay in touch!
